MONTREAL (AP) — Aldo announced his retirement after Aiemann Zahabi shocked UFC Hall of Fame member Jose Aldo in a lightweight main card game at UFC 315 on Saturday night.
Zahabi (13-2) won by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28), and the Canadians have now won six consecutive battles.

The battle was originally scheduled for the lightest division to be controversial, but changed to lightweight on Friday after both fighters checked above the weight limit.
Brazil's Aldo (32-10) announced his withdrawal from the MMA battle after 21 years of his career.
The card is titled BOUT BOUT BELAL MUHAMMAD and JACK DELLA MADDALENA, as well as a women’s lightweight championship showdown between Valentina Shevchenko and Manon Fiorot.
Saturday’s card was Canada’s first card since Donald Trump was re-elected as U.S. president in November. This is due to growing political tensions between Canada and the United States, as Trump repeatedly suggested that Canada should be the 51st state in the United States, with some of them sweeping over.

Canadian Mike Malott (12-2-1) won his welterweight match in a 26-second knockout match against Charles Radtke (10-5). Malott knocked Radtke down with a clean left hook, not relaxing, hitting his opponent with repeated follow-up strikes to seal the knockout round.
Throughout the fight, Radtke met Jayce and the curse during a pre-war press conference on Wednesday and booing “Stars and Stripes Banners” at Canadian sporting events in recent months.
"When you all boo the national anthem, someone will have to pay for it," Ratke said.
In the Women's Fly Master, Canada's Jasmine Jasudas Watsius (14-3) submitted Brazilian Jessia Andrade (26-14) through half of the first round.

Marc-Andre Barriault (17-9) also knocked opponent Bruno Silva (23-13) to the first round of their middleweight match, hitting Silva in the head with an elbow. Silva left the octagon on the stretcher.
Benoit Saint Denis (14-3) defeated Kyle Prepolec (12-8) in the opening main card battle. The Frenchman blocked the Canadian with a weapon triangle cho in the middle of the second round.
Prepolec only discovered that he would fight in Montreal less than two weeks ago. The 35-year-old was asked to replace the injured Joel Alvarez.
