The team is not ready to prepare for major European finals every day or season. In fact, there are only three, and it's a long way. But for Tottenham and Yves Bissoma, that's exactly where they find themselves.
The Spurs will face Manchester United in the Europa League final on May 21, both hoping to redeem a season, expressing disappointment from home.
But they somehow found a way to perform in mainland games. Tottenham Hotspurs finished fourth in the league stage – third behind Manchester United and defeated Bodo/Glimt 5-2 in the semi-finals.
Bisoma wants to describe him as a night of night that he will never forget.
"It's the best night of my life because I'm eligible for the finals of the Europa League," the midfielder spoke exclusively. Sky movementTalking about Norway's second round.
“Nothing can change my life, and I will never forget that. I know I can have a better night than this, so I try to prepare for it.
“Not every time you have a chance to play in the European finals, and not every season will come out, so for such a special moment, you feel like a dream. I don’t want to wake up.
“I realized it wasn’t a dream, we worked hard to be where we are now. The club deserves what the fans, and we deserve it, because every day we are working hard to get where we are now.
“We have to do the right thing to bring the trophy home.”
Bissouma predicts after the second round Daniel Levy will sing with the players on the plane. "I'm very excited and happy!" he said with a smile, not revealing whether the Spurs chairman actually got the microphone.
The Mali international is an important part of Tottenham's success in the semi-finals. On both legs, he ranks the third-place winning shot and ball possession championships. He also won the top four in the midfield third place.
But Bisoma quickly pointed out how the club's people helped him do so, saying: "It's not just me, it's a team.
"We worked very hard - coaches, all the staff, players. We are the Spurs family. This season has been really hard for us and now is not the time for us to give up. We are all together.
“Maybe you see me playing, but the coaches, they gave me the message that let me do that on the court, the way we train, all of this stuff can help me play like me.
"It's a team win, and I'm so happy about it because now we have what we want. Now, it's a game, so let's be ready."
This marks a turnaround for Bisoma, whose performance this season does not always reflect his talent – arguably reflecting Tottenham’s overall campaign.
After losing to Fulham in March, Spurs owner Ange Postecoglou said midfielders could "sometimes put him in trouble" and hope to be more dominant on the ball than Soma.
But after facing Crystal Palace, the European Museum talked about his pride in the players before facing Crystal Palace, saying the two recently said that when the coach told Bisoma that he would need to help the team at a critical moment.
"I'm here for my team. Even if I play or not, I always have to be prepared. That's how I grew up - that's my mindset. I'll never give up."
"The harder the harder I work. I'm thinking, 'My time will come. If my team needs me, if the coach needs me, I have to be prepared."
“I was ready before we spoke, so it wasn’t new to me. To be back for a big game of the season, it showed how he (Postecoglou) trusted me and he knew I could do the job.
“It’s always a pleasure to work with Ange. I have a great relationship with him. He is the manager who really understands the players and tries to do everything he can for his team. He goes all out for success.
“I accepted it in a good way (any criticism) because when I was well, he told me I was good. When I didn’t, if he said that, I would accept it in a good way.
“He said, asking me to improve, showing him the best (player) he knows, and that makes me do my best.
“During the preseason, you’re ready for your season, but sometimes, things happen and you have to deal with it. It’s important to stay strong, especially mentally, because it’s not easy.
"And I know some fans are not happy with me. It's because they know I'm a really good player, they know how I can help the team, they're frustrated because I can't do what I can. I understand, I took it in a good way.
“That’s why all of these things make me work harder and try to help my team and take them to the level this club needs.”
Needless to say, Bisoma will need to use all his recent forms to help Tottenham Hotspur’s first trophy since 2008 next week and end the Premier League season with a positive attitude.
