Manager after the Yankees lost 3-2 to Tampa Bay Lights Saturday afternoon Aaron BooneE talked to some players about many topics...
Clarke Schmidt suddenly scratched Saturday, and Yarbrough was tasked with being the team's opener against the Rays. Bulk relief agents are used to pitching multiple innings, but Boone is very happy with the results.
Lefties are allowed to hit only one inning at a time and walk four innings. It was Yarbrough's season-high four innings, and he flew SAC from Taylor Walls in the second to thank you for the only run you allowed.
"I tried to convince (Boon) to get me into the fifth, especially in the bullpen game," Yarbrough said after the game. "Just really give those guys some rest, especially if you one day you don't necessarily expect as early as possible. We were there to pick each other up, just trying to do my best."
"I thought he did a good job. After walking a few shot puts, it was not ideal, there were several walks there. But it started a day, if you said four innings, one inning. Register us all day. He gave us what we needed. Give us a chance and put us in a good position to win the game. Unfortunately, the finish line was not reached today."
Leiter Jr. allows Christopher Morel Anthony Volpe - - Brandon Low walk. He bumped Young Caminero Before Curtis Mead Bloop Single tied the game up and then pushed the Volpe bug on the Go-Aead Run.
After the game, Boone applauded the ray's batsmen, especially Lowe and Mead
"I thought he threw the ball. There are only a few balls with eyes." Boone said.
On Friday, Chisholm was placed on IL due to highly tilted strains. Boone expects Chisholm to line up for 4-6 weeks, but when the infielder was asked about how he felt in the Oriole series earlier this week, he believed he would be back in a few days.
“(due to the results) I was very surprised, it just depends on how I feel myself and how I feel myself personally" Chisholm said after Saturday's game. "This is my second tilt. This feels completely different from the first one. So for me, I was very surprised when I saw the results."
Chisholm revealed that he had three different tears on his slope, which surprised him even more.
"That's why I'm very surprised by what (test) said" He said. "It doesn't feel as sad as it was when I tore three years ago."
Chisholm and Yanks have a 2025 downfall. He launched an impressive seven home runs, but his batting average (.181) and OBP remained low (.304).
