Wisconsin basketball coach Greg Gard comments on BYU Games

Wisconsin basketball head coach Greg Gard shared his opinion in a recent non-conference showdown against the BYU Cougars on Tuesday.

The plan officially announced the press release about a week after the Cougars’ game against the Cougars at the Delta Center of Utah Jazz on November 21 was surfaced.

"We are so excited to be able to arrange this game with BYU," UW head coach Greg Gard told UWBADGERS.com. "Our game last year was one of the best games in the NCAA Championship and I think both fans will love the replay of this season. We have been trying to challenge ourselves in a non-conference schedule to think the team is ready for the Big Ten and beyond, and this game will definitely do that."

The players are sure to have another highly anticipated test for the crew against Kevin Young. In the latest match between the two teams on March 22, the Cougars scored a 91-89 victory, with former star John Tonje's 37-point performance and BYU veteran Richie Saunders' 25 points.

While Tonje won't be back in Utah's the foot's hardwood, the Cougars will return to the Saunders to send starting center Keba Keita and welcome freshman small forward AJ Dybantsa, a five-star recruit and expected No. 1 in the 2026 NBA Draft. Meanwhile, UW is expected to be founded before John Blackwell and center Nolan Winter and two return starters, Virginia Rhode and Portland forward Austin Rapp along with Portland forward Austin Rapp and Portland forward Austin Rapp.

The non-conference slate will also play a neutral field game at the Villanova Wildcats at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on December 19, an exhibition at the Oklahoma Sooners in Milwaukee on October 24, and appear in Oklahoma in late November at the Aggressive Kids Invitational.

Traditionally, the Big Ten game outside allows the measurement of their game against potential NCAA Championship participants. The games also allow Gard to try rotations and evaluate his athletes' mutual performance. Wisconsin's November 21st with the Cougars will also attract attention.

The battle is expected to be the first family and BYU will travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2026.
