The political drama unfolding in the United States is a story of missing opportunities, and Democrats are the main characters who work hard to find their foothold. As Trump polls shattered, many wondered why Dems were not exploited at the time.

Well, it's not surprising to me. ABC News - Washington Post Post - A poll released by IPSOS last month showed that 69% of people believe that the Democrats are disconnected from most people's concerns. Why? Because instead of focusing on people’s concerns, they are trapped in the same tired routine: pointing at the fingers, emphasizing Trump’s faults, and condemning chaos and threats to democracy. This strategy is fundamentally flawed.

Recent events highlight this disconnect. The chaos in New Jersey detention centers highlights the ongoing immigration crisis, but Democrats work to propose a cohesive option. They can focus on pragmatic reforms, such as simplifying asylum procedures, increasing border security through technology rather than walls, and creating avenues for citizenship for undocumented immigrants.

Meanwhile, internal conflicts within the party, such as David Hogg's future struggle within the DNC, show a lack of a unified vision. Rather than rallying around new voices and ideas, the party has been trapped in an internal dispute that further alienates potential supporters.

Democratic voters lash out their party as "incompetent" and "useless" in the New York Times interview

That's not to say what Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson's new book Original Sin is allegedly covering up the fragile health of former President Joe Biden, and the problems caused by his recent tragic prostate cancer diagnosis. All of this adds another layer of complexity. Instead of solving these problems with transparency and continuity plans, the party avoided the issue, leaving voters with more questions than answers.

All of this brings huge trust issues to the Democrats. Can they trust to tell the truth? Can they trust to solve our biggest problem? The answer is that in the latest Fox News survey, Democrats hit their lowest ever rating, with only 41% taking positive views on them.

President Trump's approval ratings slide, but Democrats' poll count hits new lows

The decline in enthusiasm for Democrats comes from within. Last summer, 87% of self-identified Democrats approved their party, but now it has dropped to 77%. Meanwhile, the Republicans have seen a slight improvement among loyal parties, with 85% of self-identified Republicans holding good views. The data paints a very clear picture of the impact of the Democratic Party’s mistakes.

Winning the soul requires positive messaging, not just yelling how bad Donald Trump is.

In 2017-2018, Democrats handled things much better. They have a clear narrative that is about to reach the midterm: Trump’s failure to be in healthcare during his first term is a tangible issue they can catch. They promised to patch things that were broken - offering plans like expanding the Affordable Care Act and lowering the price of prescription drugs. But now, instead of providing a solution, they focus on Donald Trump's chaos and "evil". question? Voters not only long for a villain. They want a solution.

Consider the economy. Despite Democrats criticizing Trump’s trade war and tax cuts by the wealthy, they often fail to express their clear economic vision. Not only can they oppose tariffs, they can also propose comprehensive trade policies to protect U.S. jobs while promoting global cooperation. Plans that emphasize infrastructure investment or green energy work, while not attracting those on the right, can provide many with a positive, forward-looking agenda.

Their rhetoric often goes to extremes, combining Trump with Hitler or labeling his supporters as Nazis. While this may energize the base, it risked alienating moderates and uncertain voters, even everyday Americans who were eager for practical solutions to the apocalyptic rhetoric. By building opponents as booing, they have the potential to shut down a wider range of voters.

Most importantly, if Democrats want to win, Democrats need to move from reactive, negative strategies to proactive, solution-oriented approaches. They should focus on real policies – health reforms, economic growth, immigration reforms, tariffs – and clear plans to address these issues. Winning the soul requires positive messaging, not just yelling how bad Trump is. Otherwise, they will continue to stagger, mastering the narrative game with their opponents and controlling the dialogue through chaos.

To truly connect with voters, the Democrats must provide a vision that resonates with everyday life. By doing so, they can transform from opposition parties to solution parties, but no one seems willing to stand up and do that.
