White House Controversial Report Trump sees Michigan congressmen as "fake news"

The White House fought back in a news report claiming that President Donald Trump mixed two congressmen during a rally in Michigan Tuesday night.

Trump marked the first 100 days of his second term at a rally in Warren, Michigan, where he touted his achievements in deporting illegal immigrants, defended his tariff policies and criticized the former president Joe Biden.

At one point, Trump proposed the improper effort launched by Michigan Democratic Rep. Shri Thanedar this week.

"They did it again today," Trump told the crowd. "People I've never heard of."

House Democrats announce impeachment to Trump: "Clear and now danger"

"John James, he's a member of Congress, is this guy?" Trump turned his head and asked Rep. John James, a Republican of Michigan, who reportedly was trying to implode him.

Trump continued to mock Thanedar on Monday for announcing that he was introducing seven improvisations and said: "How the hell did I do it? We're here again. They want to improvise me. This lunatic."

The news agency later reported that Trump “erroneously accused the wrong congressman – Public Rep. John James sponsored an improper resolution to impeach him.”

Trump said: "In front of a ridiculous crowd, Trump said, 'A man I've never heard of. John James. Is he a member of Congress? … What the hell did I do? We went again. We went again. This lunatic.'

The report continued: “The improvisation effort was actually initiated by Democratic Rep. Shri Thanedar.”

Newsnation's report initially included a subtitle labeled "Michigan Congressman who Trump mistakenly thought improper each."

The media seems to think he calls James an improper member of Congress, but the video shows Trump speaking to James and asking him a question.

Newsnation updated its article through a White House statement that raised questions about Wednesday's characteristics.

"The president asked John James in the crowd about Democratic Congressman Shri Thanedar. If the news agency looked at the actual communication, they would know that."

Newsnation's report was also cited in the Politico Playbook newsletter Wednesday morning.

"Donald Trump seems to be mingling John James with Shiites" and is related to news reports. White House comments are also included in their report.

In comment, the White House told Fox News digital numbers: "The media is more concerned with driving scams to attack President Trump than getting the story right and reporting the truth. It is not surprising that the trust in the US in the media is historic downturn, but the administration continues to call for fake news."

Newsnation and Politico did not respond to requests for comment.
