On Tuesday, the British government suspended free trade negotiations with Israel in response to its military operations in the Gaza war and the expansion of illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Speaking in parliament, Foreign Secretary David Lammy said the British government could not continue to talk about upgrading its existing trade agreements with the Israeli government to achieve what he calls “weird policies” in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
This is the second day in the UK, France and Canada, and it is threatened to take "specific action" against Israel without blocking their renewed offense and increasing restrictions on aid.
Meanwhile, the EU has also taken a step forward in its relationship with Israel and the EU's foreign policy head Kaja Kallas, confirmed on Tuesday that the group had voted to review its trade cooperation agreement.
The UK and Israel began negotiations on the Modern Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in July 2022 to enhance their economic partnership by resolving areas not covered in their existing trade agreements, especially those not covered in services and digital trade.

Israel’s electronics sector is a key engine of its export economy, led by key players such as Intel, which operates large-scale chip manufacturing facilities, as well as companies such as Elbit Systems and Orbotech, known for its military electronics and advanced manufacturing expertise.
