LOS ANGELES — A star-studded cast of musicians including Billie Eilish, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Joni Mitchell will perform at the Los Angeles Convention Center, organizers announced Thursday. Performing at a benefit concert for wildfire recovery and relief later that month.
"FireAid" will take place on January 30 at the Intuit Dome and Kia Forum in Inglewood, Los Angeles area, and will feature numerous artists with California ties.
AEG announced that tickets will go on sale Wednesday at noon via Ticketmaster. The funds will be used for short-term and long-term relief, the statement said.
The Palisades and Eaton fires have killed at least 27 people and displaced tens of thousands. The Los Angeles Fire Chief said it would be one of the worst natural disasters in the city's history.
Millions of dollars in donations have been raised after devastating fires destroyed thousands of homes in Pacific Palisades and the Altadena and Pasadena areas.
Steve Ballmer, owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, which plays at the Intuit Dome, pledged $15 million. Other Hollywood and sports organizations and celebrities have also donated, including the Walt Disney Co., which pledged $15 million.
Tickets are scheduled to go on sale Wednesday at noon local time (3 p.m. ET) via Ticketmaster.
The concert will begin on January 30 at 6 pm local time (9 pm ET).
Concerts at both venues will be held at the same time, and holders of tickets for one venue cannot attend concerts at both venues at the same time.
Organizers said the event will also be broadcast widely and will be shown at some AMC theaters.
It will also stream online or on Apple Music and the Apple TV App; Max; iHeartRadio; KTLA+; Netflix/Tudom; Paramount+; Amazon Music Channel on Prime Video and Twitch; Sirius XM; Spotify; SoundCloud; Vice President; and YouTube.
Organizers say donations and contributions to FireAid will go to the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and will be distributed based on recommendations from the philanthropic Annenberg Foundation.
Its website says the funds will be used for "short-term rescue efforts and long-term initiatives to prevent future fires."
