What will happen to Jay

Spoiler Alert: The story contains the destroyers of the "Ghost" season finale, which airs on CBS Thursday night.

Oh, hell no. "Ghost" just finished its fourth season with cliff-blocked hell: Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) has signed a new promoter to help attract his restaurant interest - and it seems to be working! But there is one gain: the contract he signed is not actually a contract to hire a PR team. It was to sell his soul to the devil, it was not a PR person - it was Erias Woodstone, who now could show up on Earth as a messenger of the devil.

Here is another capture: the devil doesn't want to wait for Jay's soul. So Erias will now try Jay's death as soon as possible instead of later.

It all fell at the end of the Season 4 finale, "The Devil Goes to Woodstone", at a party of Sam's books about Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) hosted by Rose McIver and Jay. Early in this episode, the Puritan ghost patience (Mary Holland) also returns because she feels evil in the air. She turned out to be right - given the final look of Elias.

In the cliff news at the end of other seasons, it seems like there is a new ghost couple among us: after years of Richie Moriarty’s crushing of Danielle Pinnock, the feeling is now mutual.

type Talk to Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, executive producers of "Ghost" to find out what's going on next, and they're ready to open the writer's room for Season 5 next week.

It's a brand new wrinkle and there's real bets here. We are talking about Jay's life. How did you decide to introduce this twist?

Joe Wiseman: We always like to end up on cliffs. This seems to be a big one. His life and his afterlife are threatened. We introduce this new Elias ability, where he can assume human form and interact with people near Episode 14, where we see him talking to Jay. But Jay didn't seem to be attending.

How dark will this be? What are the long-term plans for how this story unfolds?

Qiaogang: We like to focus Jay in the story because he can’t talk to a lot of actors. So if this story is about Jay, it’s easier to incorporate them into the action. Obviously, this is a very important bet for him. Utkarsh is very good at causing this annoyance in his plight. He did nothing, just trying to help the ghost and love his wife, and always seemed to be against him. This time, it went further than before. He has the right to be very angry with the ghost. He and Sam endured a lot of things with this staff member and we will see how this affects the start of the season and its attitude. I think they will also rely on some ghosts that have put them in trouble to help get rid of Jay.

How is Jay at risk? Elias tries to kill him!

port: We think this is important because the idea of selling your soul in times of horror feels a little urgent. We want to add some urgency to this. I think the idea that Elias tried to speed up Jay into the underworld was good for us to land.

How many Matt Walsh will we see next season? Will this make him play a more frequent, regular role?

Wiseman: We love Matt Walsh. He portrays Elias, and he is really funny. The character he plays is very hateful on the surface, but everyone likes to hate him. It is a rare talent to be able to play such a role and still have someone who likes and loves. We will take him as much as we can. Based on this, how big will this be? We haven't really mapped it out yet, but I think it's going to be a problem if it's resolved soon, just because of the fact that he's been in this situation all the time. I think it will affect his relationship with the ghost in a far-reaching way.

I'm sure his relationship with Sam would be affected, too. He endured a lot. As we see in this episode with Kyle (Ben Feldman), he also sees the ghost and it's hard to be Jay. When the ghost is talking, we have to see how quiet he is to him.

port: From Jay's perspective, there are several scenes that are what we really see. We did this before in small doses. Jay Pov's online demand is the whole plot, and we think it's going to be very boring. But it's fun to think about it.

Wiseman: He was interestingly excluded. Jay tried to jump into the place he was like, “Oh, I know, I know the basement ghost!” It was a really fun thing for him.

But now Jay's life is coming, and suddenly, it's a little less interesting, right?

Wiseman: As Joe said, this could affect his relationship with the ghost, and Sam's relationship with them. In the ending, they were like, “Oh, I think we should mention that Erias has that power.” She was like, “Yes, do you think?” The ghost messed up without alerting Sam.

Ben Feldman's Kyle also added new wrinkles to the matter. Is it possible that we will see him again or any other life where the ghost can be seen?

Wiseman: We love Ben Feldman and we really like the Kyle character. It seems to be brought back naturally. We don’t have any specific plans, but it’s something we absolutely want to have.

port: He seems to be a very interesting character. You can go to many different places with people with this power. I love that he and Pitt are developing some friendships that they seem to roam together and adventure. It’s very important for us to make someone really good roles because we do see it as something that might be more limited.

Richie Moriarty as Pete CBS
Of course, when it comes to Pitt, another big development in the ending is Pitt and Alberta. What has taken this relationship to the next level?

port: Pete has been in Alberta since the show, and they have their moments that seem to be approaching something. I think finally Pete is in a place where he is happy with others, which is usually an attractive quality. Alberta is figuring out the moment and she realizes she may have missed a ship that might be great. So they are now in the same head space and we will see where it goes. But I think there is a lot of exploration.

As for the relationship between ghosts, Román Zaragoza finally experienced love. There is still a question, how does ghosthood work?

Wiseman: I don't think we want to be completely clear on TV or here. But the way people who are associated with clothing and stuff work is different. As long as the clothes keep in touch with people, they can be in any state of undressing. This is when you let go of an article and then reform it back to its place.

Mary Holland (Patient), "Ghost" (Bertrand Calmeau/CBS) CBS
What else is exciting about the finale and looking forward to next season?

Port: It's fun to see patience again, this is a great book this season. She is obviously a natural counterweight to the devil. So she might be involved, we're talking about it all, but she's gone from foil to some ally.
