West Virginia Mountaineer: Transfer 101: Carson Lee

The West Virginia Mountaineer Football Program has taken the promise from an experienced piece through Mississippi transfer Carson Lee’s commitment.

Lee, 6-foot-3 and 320 pounds, entered the transfer portal on April 25 after spending the spring with the Bulldogs Football Program and dedicated himself to climbers after visiting campus. After entering the transfer market, he will also be one of the best choices for UCLA.

Prior to his tenure at Mississippi State, Lee started at Eastern Michigan, at center, right back and the Hawks left back. He started 10 games in 2024 and started at all three internal attractions.

During the 2023 campaign, Lee won six games in the center and played seven games.

Lee was originally at Colorado and he played five games in two seasons.

At the university level, Lee appeared 1,124 times as a blocker.

Lee also has a qualified season in his career.

Since the spring window opened, the Coloradoist has become West Virginia's fourth offensive line commitment, joining North Alabama offensive tackle Mickel Clay, Texas offensive winger Malik Agbo and Oklahoma Interior Department offensive lineman Josh Aisosa from the spring window.

WVSPORTS.COM breaks Lee's commitment and what it means to the West Virginia Mountaineer Football Program, now and in the future.

data:

Lee is an experienced offensive winger who has played more than 1,124 times in his career in Eastern Michigan and Colorado. In 2024, Lee played 10 games in his 11 games in the right back game, with one left back showing his overall flexibility.

Lee took a total of 692 snapshots in 2024, and given his experience at the college level, he demonstrated the versatility that makes him a valuable addition. He played the most attacks in his 740-year career, but had 276 catches at right back and 108 left back.

Lee performed well in the pass block last season, according to Pro Football Focus's 73.8. During his time on the court, Lee allowed only one sack and was punished only four times.

Suitable for this program:

West Virginia requires previous experience and versatility, and Lee checked out both boxes. It's an experienced offensive winger, which has become by far one of the most game-choosing options in the entire lineup in terms of play. Lee can play any of the attractions in three locations inside, providing West Virginia options how to deploy at the front possible.

The climbers have been in the entire lead since Rich Rodriguez took over the program, namely, nine of the current 20 players come from the transfer portal. Lee is a player who should play a direct role in the football program and can be used in a variety of ways.

Recruiting this position:

During this off-season, West Virginia continues to load offensive linemen, but there are several other official visits this week, meaning the program may not be completed. Still, these options are offensive tackles, so Lee's increase can meet internal needs.

If we learn anything this off-season, it is that West Virginia will remain aggressive in filling the lineup, and you will never say no anywhere.
