Maren Morris appears Show tonight To perform her recent song "Too Good" and to chat with host Jimmy Fallon.
Morris evokes the mountainside house in a beautiful suit, singing from beauties-covered bars from her band, singing the mountainside houses. The song saw the country musician’s love a relationship unforgettable: “Too good, too boring to stay/That’s the way I acted like love me/That’s awful, it’s been so long, I’ve said/I’ve always been so nice to your ass.”
"Too good" appears on Morris' new album dreamnow through Colombia records. LP is her fourth full-length album and her first since 2022 A humble mission. It contains all five songs from her 2024 EP Intermission. She talked with Fallon about recording songs with producer Jack Antonoff at the New York City Electric Ladies Studio.
"I've never written or recorded in New York all my career," she said. "It's always Nashville or Los Angeles. And then going to work with the electric lady is that time. It's like in the summer. It's amazing." She added that she used to see Michael Stipe on the roof of the studio. "I'll only see the best people coming in and out," Morris said.
Morris explained that LP had a 70s vibe because she "listened a lot of things my mom had played in the house," including Fleetwood Mac. "So, this dance encounters the laurel canyon atmosphere," she noted.
Morris will tour to support dream All summer. The trek will begin in West Hollywood on May 30 until the date in North America on September 26. The trip includes stops in New York, San Diego, Los Angeles, Jacksonville, St. Louis, Virginia Beach, Nashville, Atlanta, Atlanta and more. In November, Morris will make an appearance in Dublin, Manchester, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and other European tours.
