Warriors offseason prospects: Can they maximize Stephen Curry's competitive window?

Unlike Boston and Cleveland, the Warriors' second round demise is not surprising. Yes, Stephen Curry’s hamstring injury was a painful blow, but you might say that the talent of Golden State allows.

For some time, the warrior found himself in a strange place. After winning the championship three years ago, age, roster changes and unfulfilled expectations have created a product with a fairly fixed ceiling, although Curry continued to perform well while healthy.

Especially this season, it is full of major changes.

Klay Thompson left Dallas last summer and Jimmy Butler was acquired by the deal deadline.

It seems that Jonathan Kuminga may not be long, especially after Butler's deal.

However, the deal does show the willingness of ownership to provide some help in the last few years. The organization may not have the upside of the championship, but it can make enough noise to get into the playoffs, maybe with some adjustments and everything goes well into the Western Conference Finals.

It's pretty solid, all things to consider.

Of course, when the Warriors enter the offseason, you have to doubt whether they can use "solids" (inside) or whether their goals are higher. If Golden State wants more, it must be another summer of change.

Kuminga will be a restricted free agent with no obvious market. First, only the Brooklyn Nets have the eggs with the upper limit, and second, what type of player he is after four seasons in the league.

Butler Trade shows a willingness to further lean towards veteran status.

Brandin Podziemski and Moses Moody are both able to play Curry, Butler and Draymond Green, both of which seem like a good bet.

Summer will reveal their ideas and how they plan to move forward, but it won't be surprising if the Warriors continue to try to maximize Curry's competition window.

Record: 48-34, seventh in the Western Conference. In the second round, he lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in five games.

Highlights of this season

Buddy Hield's first round game 7 against the Houston Rockets was an epic show and showed off the veterans with the right lights. Notorious for making strange decisions late in the game, Hilder tends to eliminate snipers in the area, cashing out nine triples and acting as the main release valve. In his next game, he failed to put on the right shorts and delayed his first game against Wolves. Never change, buddy.

Draft focus: Nothing will change dramatically within this range. However, adding shots is not the worst idea.

Technically, Warriors can have non-tax MLE, but it depends on what happened to Cushinga. If he comes back at a high price, or the team has a contract deal and they take back a salary similar to his new deal, it will get even more complicated.

Needs and goals

Needless to say, this team wants to be competitive, even if it is older and slower than the 2022 championship team. It would be strange if the Warriors didn’t approach buyers this summer to further strengthen the roster. But they must not only be realistic, not only to be affordable, but also to absorb what type of talent. It might be a good idea to add more shots to a team that has Butler and Green.
