Warren Zevon's son enters the rock hall on his father

Warren Zevon's son is not sure how it feels like his late father ended up inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. “He will be 78 by now,” Jordan Zevon told Rolling stones. "How would the 78-year-old pop concert react to this? He could have been the most craziest, my lawn-guy on Earth, or he might have turned into a story era grandpa with hard candy in his pocket and thought it was pleasant. We just don't know."

Music fans love to complain about the many responsibilities of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, like the new order/joy gap, New York Dolls, Phish, Iron Maiden, Mariah Carey and King Crimson. (Paul McCartney is still not here. Until now, the snub list has been for many years.

Zevon was indeed your favorite musician's favorite musician decades before Chappell Roan claimed. Just take a look at the 1976 All-Star List of All-Stars made for his eponymous classic: Glenn Frey, Don Henry, Steve Knicks, Lindsay Buckingham, Jackson Brown, Jackson Brown, Bonnie Wright, Phil Everley and more. This legacy has only grown in the 23 years since Zevon's death, with young musicians like MJ Lenderman and Shooter Jennings appearing as fans of the cult artist.

Jordan Zevon, a musician himself, died of mesothelioma in 2003 and is now 55 years old, one year younger than when his father died. Before taking his daughter to see Thunder and lightning*, he and Rolling stones Discuss Hall of Fame News.

Congratulations. How did you receive the news?
Well, I had a little cover up ahead of time because someone called me and received a few words, but I took it close to the belt. Then I know it will be American Idoland I think we played basketball because I didn’t realize it was a comprehensive, live, coast-to-coast game. So I just worked on my computer and I looked up and the show started and I was like, “Wait a minute.”

You wrote on Facebook that people think you are disappointed with it because he won the Music Influence Award (formerly the Early Influence Award) rather than being part of the main inductee.
To me, it makes a lot of sense. I went to see other people who were attracted to: Hank Williams, Woody Guthrie and Louis Jordan. And, I mean, Billy Holidays. This isn't a really mean club, do you know what I mean? I think it admits that he has influence, just as I think people are a little shocked by the number of votes his fans have. His influence in the lives of many musicians and many people has his influence.

But no, he is not like Cyndi Lauper. You didn't see his video every five seconds when he was born yes Business success. But I think there is a different penetration of the musical roots he does. So I think it's great. No asterisk.

What does this mean for you on a personal level? You and your sister Ariel Always talking about this?
We haven't talked about it for a long time. I really don't think this would happen until he was nominated. I don't know if he can join their radar enough to include him. So when he was nominated (last year), it was amazing and then he didn't go in. It's kind of like: "Okay, yes, I think."

And then when this happens, it's like, "That's crazy." I think the initial email I sent to (Ariel) was interesting. I should read what I sent her because what I said and her response were classic. I wrote her an email saying, "Okay, what do you know?" She replied, "Okay, I will." ((laugh.)

Do you think your father will react to the news?
I've considered it and I'll give you a spoon. Because the topic of my is basically there, he does like to be recognized and he will appreciate it very much. He enjoys this reputation in counter-mainstream and counter-litigation, which is really not the point. So, myself and those who know him know he would appreciate it, but the truth is, I don't know. We don't know because he's gone.

Yes, we just don't know.
We don't know. So when someone dies, it really depends on the rest of us to measure how we feel about things. And I think whatever your opinion on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame idea, if someone did it, and there is a large building that says Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he should be in it, period. Now he is.

Your father is indeed every musician’s favorite musician. I know Billy Joel Write a letter He was advocated for joining the Hall of Fame last year. So I'm curious, who has contacted you since the news came out?
I didn't talk to a lot. I hope Billy can help. If you are there, you have my phone number. I heard from the guy he played with, that's the same thing. Everyone thought it made sense and they were happy to see that it had happened and he got some recognition because of the tough career he had. It's not always the easiest, but you have to give him a lot of honors. Even without the music that many people heard as much as they were in his heyday, he has been making great music. It didn't change the quality of his music. He hasn't tried anything other than his identity. I think that's why you can look back at his directory and see this consistency.

The young musician loves him. Are you familiar with it Weyes blood Or MJ Lenderman?
I know the lender. Then I also know Dawes. I know they are fans and they did some really great covers for his songs, which I am very grateful for because some of them are mostly songs he made himself. I once told him, "Dad, I know musicians, they'll play for free." He was like, "Hmm." Of course, these guys are now wallflowers and all the other famous conference guys. ((laugh.)

Lenderman covered “The Werewolf of London” several times, but after Rock Hall News came out, he walked off the stage in Brooklyn for “My shit messed up.”
That's great. I know (Eddie) Vedder plays "Keep My Heart" in Atlanta. I received a bunch of videos.

Tim Walz often quotes your father during the 2024 election and says, "We're dead, we'll sleep." Have you met?
I know. That's crazy. I didn't, but I did a Twitter post, or what's called posts today, thanks for his support. One of my father’s true close friends was Steve Cohen, a member of Congress (Tennessee), so he conveyed it to Tim and we thank him for all his support. Hopefully he is excited.

It's great to see those record stores' releases - his 1990 Albums and REM ((Hindu God of Love)and 90s box set ((Piano Warrior - The Great Years). I'm really happy with the latter because mutineer Being underestimated.
Yes, yes. That's really great. Many of these (WAS) are our online people. He just had all these great ideas, so he really advocated for it.

Can you share other archives?
We're doing the last three records (2000s Life will kill you2002 My journey is hereand 2003 wind), we are also ready to go with special envoy. That would have something live and something really cool. If all the elements we are talking about come together, I'm very excited about its release. Then, if you can't get the box set, we end up breaking the record storage day vinyl. Because I know those record storage days things can be a nightmare.

We walked a few ways from the Rock Hall ceremony, but what was your dream scene?
I have no idea. That's not what I said. I heard the name, I heard the thoughts. Since I don't work for them, I'm keeping it on my belt now. But this should be cool.

They should definitely play "Join My Los Angeles" because it's a good fit.
Yes, that would be perfect. The ceremony was cool in Los Angeles this year because (he was) Mr. Los Angeles

I obviously want to see David Letterman There.
Yes, so do me. This makes a lot of sense. He really supports it. God, there are so many people who keep His legacy alive and keep it so kind and supportive that I love it. At least, it is hard to imagine that dad is still reluctant to talk about more than 20 years. I told him I would keep him busy, so he is here.
