Minnesota Democratic Governor Tim Walz Donald Trump criticized Donald Trump in his law school graduation speech on Saturday, accusing the Republican president of repeatedly violating the rule of law and causing a national emergency.
Walz, the 2024 vice presidential nominee, used his speech at the opening ceremony of the University of Minnesota Law School, calling on graduates to stand up and abuse their power. Lawyers are “our first and last defense,” he said.
"Now, more than any other time in my life, we need you to live up to the oath you want to take. Because, I have to be honest with you: You are graduating from a real emergency," Walz told the crowd, which greeted him with a loud applause. “Every day, the U.S. president finds new ways to trample on rights and undermine the rule of law.”
