Trustnordisk adds Pernille Fischer Christensen's "disengagement"

Prior to the Cannes Market, Trustnordisk, the leading sales agent in Scandinavia, released the freshness of Pernille Fischer Christensen's drama Untavered ("Vores Løfte"), which just packed the film for Nordisk Film Production Denmark.

A Berlinale regular, from her 2006 breakthrough price-winning debut “A Soap” to the Astrid Lindgren biopic “Becoming Astrid” (2018), picked up by Music Box for the US, Christensen's “Unraveled” marks her anticipated return to the silver screen after her TV drama immersion that notably took in co-directing DR's acclaimed “Cry Wolf.”

The upcoming Danish image star Danica Curcic ("The Chestnut Man", "Out Shet Morse Morses") plays Maria, a former elite swimmer and famous sports commentator Maria, who lives unveiled when her beloved husband Mikael (Lars Ranthe of "Another Round"), her former coach and daughter's father, suddenly allegedly suspected of sexual abuse. The scandal and media interest in a coming book is a revelation of a young girl’s misleading obsession with her swimming coach, and there are rumors that Mikel is the person in question.

Christensen said a few years ago, Christensen's interest in the issue was #MeToo, "One of the greatest things that have happened to us women since free abortion and our right to vote is." "But I'm also a person with a lot of compassion, so I'm starting to doubt the feeling of the man accused of being sexually harassed, it's the feeling of his wife and children."

For the director who often puts the family at the heart of her work, her sixth painting begins with “a film about a woman who is forced to revisit her marriage, a deep love for her husband as she tries to keep her family together and protect her daughter’s media fanaticism from the media.”

“Because of this theme, with a woman reflecting on her own couple and regaining control of her narrative, I feel like I have to have full control over the material.” As Christensen said typethe key elements that helped her build and perfect the script were thorough research, interviews with men accused of sexual harassment and their family, and discussions with the main actors to capture the authenticity of their performance.

Christensen said she is currently fine-tuning the tone and “thriller-ish” element around the sexual possessions – with editor My Thordal (“Families Like Ours,” “The Kingdom”), actress-turned composer Rebekka Karijord (“Songs of Earth,” “All the Old Knives”) and cinematographer Joe Maples (“Blackwater,” “The Hunt for a Killer”).

"The film touches on a variety of themes through a single storyline, telling a fascinating, emotional, but also universally timely story," said Susan Wendt, managing director of Trustnordisk. "Revealing" is a very driven film, one of Pernier's biggest strengths, and I'm sure the film will once again attract interrogators from all over the world."

Photos produced by Mette Høst Hansen & Tomas Radoor will be launched in Denmark in spring 2026.

For Cannes, Trustnordisk's strong slate also attracted Anders Thomas Jensen's highly anticipated "The Last Viking", starring Mads Mikkelsen and unveiled a fresh scene in a promotional Rell speech with six upcoming titles. Two films will be screened on the market: The Swiss-German hospital's TV series "The Late Car", which collects solid commentary on the back of its Berlinale's particularly grand presentation, as well as Norwegian documentary scripts and series "Fighter", which are on display at CPH: DOX and Series Mania.

Experienced sales broker Winter said in Cannes when he started commenting: "It's hard to say what the market will look like. Buyers will definitely be more selective and careful. But if you have the right project, they're still there and paying a good price. The problem is always on the lookout for new projects and all kinds of steps. Large dramas, crimes, and feel good dramas are monster action and animation, and we look forward to showing all of them to the international market."
