Trump vows to start a "new chapter" for America, promising in pre-inauguration video that "the best days are yet to come"

First up is Fox: President-elect Trump said his second term represented a "new chapter" for the United States and promised the American people that the country's "best days are yet to come."

Trump made the pledge in a video released by his team Monday morning, just hours before he was to be sworn in and sworn in as the 47th president of the United States.

The video, titled "It All Comes Down: Inauguration Day 2025," follows the president from leaving office in 2021, to the unprecedented FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago home, to his days in court, to 2025 year gathering. Butler, Pennsylvania, where he was nearly assassinated, was a highlight of the campaign.

"If I had one message for you today, it would be this: Never give up," Trump said in the video.

Journalists' voices then reflected on the "FBI raid on Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago...authorizing the use of deadly force."

"Nothing worth doing is easy," Trump said, before playing news clips of his prosecution by Special Counsel Jack Smith and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Smith's cases against Trump were dismissed. Trump faced an unprecedented six-week trial in Manhattan on Bragg's charges and was found guilty by a jury, but the judge granted him an unconditional discharge - meaning no punishment.

"Throughout your life, you're going to find that things are not always fair," Trump said. "You're going to find that some things happen to you that shouldn't happen."

Just days before accepting the Republican nomination, Trump suffered an assassination attempt on July 13 at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. During the event, Trump showed a chart highlighting how illegal immigration has soared under the Biden-Harris administration. As he turned to the diagram, a bullet from the late would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks struck him in the upper right ear. Trump credits the chart with saving his life.

"But you have to put your head down and fight, fight, fight," Trump recounted. "Never, never give up. The more people tell you it's impossible and can't be done, the more determined you should be to prove them wrong."

"Think of the word 'impossible' as motivation," Trump said.

"Enjoy the opportunity to be an outsider, because it is outsiders who change the world and create real and lasting change," Trump said.

He added, "The more a broken system tells you you're wrong, the more certain you have to keep moving forward, and you have to keep moving forward."

Trump continued his narration, saying: "Never stop fighting for what you believe in and the people who care about you."
