White House officials said Trump will discuss investment and cooperation opportunities with other leaders during the trip. But the war between Gaza and Ukraine was imminent on his economic-centered ambitions.

Trump's visit began today in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a rich Gulf power in mineral wealth, and "there's really no better relationship," said Trump's allies who are closely linked to the region.

Then, in Doha, Qatar, Trump is expected to give a speech at Al Udede Air Force Base and meet with the U.S. troops. He will also meet with the Katari government to discuss royal luxury plane gifts worth about $400 million. Proposed gift Challenges debate in Washington The constitutional provisions regarding whether it would violate the constitutional provisions of gifts from foreign countries that have not been approved by Congress. Republican Senator Ron Johnson called the plane a "very strange proposal" and Trump Ally Laura Loomer said accepting the gift would be "pressure" for the administration. Trump described the gift as a "contribution" that the United States cannot refuse.

It is also worth noting: Last month, a deal was reached at a Trump-branded golf course near Doha that highlighted the Trump Organization's international ambitions while raising concerns among critics about profits in the presidency.

The ongoing war in Gaza and Ukraine also provided diplomatic opportunities for Trump, who announced the return of American hostage Edan Alexander before leaving Washington. The president hopes Hamas will release more hostages this week. It's not an official agenda, but Trump said he will consider flying to Turkey at a potential meeting held by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Employee selection: No black box, no answer

Courtesy Steve Langen

Steve Langen waited for more than a year to learn what caused the ocean helicopter to hit the snowy mountain peak in Southern California, killing his son and four other waiters. But last week, an investigation report said the plane was not equipped with a device that could hold flight data, called a "black box." Without enough data, researchers can only propose a theory.

This means Langen may never know how and why he lost his 23-year-old son, whose 23-year-old son was on the night of February 6, 2024, with his ocean pilot stepping.

"You put a price tag on the lives of the service members," Langan told me. "For me, being the father and the Marines doing the job, it was really painful. It was hurt on a very hard-to-speak level." - Melissa ChenNational Journalist
