Trump uses Fox News's Jeanine Pirro as DC prosecutor to abandon Ed Martin

President Donald Trump hired Fox News host, former county attorney, and Judge-elect Jeanine Pirro as interim U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C., which Trump made the announcement after he stepped down from his previous position nomination for Ed Martin.

The president praised Piro as a "powerful crusader for the victims of crime" in a truth society post. "Jeanine is very qualified in this position and is considered one of the most important local attorneys in New York State history. She herself is in class."

Pirro joined Fox News in 2011 and has been enthusiastic support from the president who has been affected twice in numerous crimes and civil investigations. In 2021, voting machine company SmartMatic USA sued Fox News, Pirro and other Fox hosts for spreading lies that the company helped undermine Trump's 2020 presidential election. The lawsuit is still waiting.

Before most recently as a co-host of the network fivePirro previously hosted a weekend performance Justice with Judge Jeanine.
