Trump touts Middle East deals as Comey's controversial position explodes

President Donald Trump condemned a mysterious social media post by former FBI director James Comey, who was interpreted as covering up his call for assassination.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News chief political host Bret Baier during his visit to Abu Dhabi, Trump said the now-deleted post was intended to form a shell of "86 47".

"He's not very capable. But he's capable enough to know what it means." There's a reason for him to do this. ”

The post was shared on Instagram with the title "Cool shells formed on my beach trail." Some interpret it as a coded message, “86” is the word “get rid of”, and “47” refers to Trump, the 47th president of the United States.

Comey later deleted the position and apologized, saying, "I didn't realize that some people associate these numbers with violence. This has never happened to me, but I opposed any kind of violence, so I fell down the position."

However, Trump does not believe it.

"He knows exactly what it means. A kid knows what it means," he said. "If you are a director of the FBI and you don't know what it means - that means assassination, it's loud and clear."

When asked if Comey should face the consequences, Trump refused to give a clear answer, but said the Justice Department and the U.S. Secret Service were investigating.

"If he had a clean history - he didn't, he was a dirty cop...I can understand if there was a leniency. But I'm going to let them make this decision."

Trump also used the interview to highlight recent foreign policy developments, claiming success in brokerage peace and ensuring economic transactions in the Middle East.

"I'm using trade to solve the scores and achieve peace," Trump said.

He noted that a recent ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, calling it a major breakthrough that avoided his claim to potential for nuclear war.

"I think that would be a nuclear war, or a nuclear war... Now everyone is happy," Trump said. "In fact, I told my people, call them and let's start the deal right away."

Earlier this month, Trump announced a ceasefire in a truth-clarifying social position, congratulating both nuclear forces on showing what he calls “common sense.”

He said he also hopes to use his trade strategy with Iran, who claims is seeking a deal with the United States. The president reiterated his position that Iran would never have nuclear weapons, noting that the solution would be either “violent or non-violent” and said he prefers a peaceful choice.

Trump will return to Washington, describing three major investment deals from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, with commitments to the U.S. economy meeting billions of dollars.

He also criticized Joe Biden for his attitude towards the region, saying: "It's a great area, but it's never been treated properly. And, Biden certainly didn't treat it well, Biden didn't know he was alive, frankly."

Trump added that he eased "cruel" sanctions on Syria, claiming that the country's leaders demanded relief to prove they could change.

The president also commented on the ongoing war in Ukraine, saying Russian President Vladimir Putin was "tired" of the conflict. Trump said he thinks he can use economic leverage to force Russia to negotiate peace, as he claims to have done with Iran, but only if he has to.

He criticized Biden for what he believed could not prevent war, repeating his long-standing argument that invasions would not occur under his administration.

At the end of the interview, Trump discussed an investigation into two assassination attempts against him during the 2024 campaign season. He revealed that although some information is still classified, he has been profiled by officials but still has questions.

"I think that's weird," Trump said of a suspect. "A guy has 18 phones, okay? I have a lot of phones, but I have two."

Trump said that although he is still upset, officials assured him that he is not at the moment in danger.

"They told me it's good," he said, adding, "It's hard to believe when I get that feeling of shaking. I feel a little shaken."
