Trump to name Texas border czar as Border Patrol captain, sources say

The incoming Trump administration plans to appoint a Texas border czar to head the U.S. Border Patrol, replacing the career official who currently leads the agency charged with stemming the illegal flow of immigrants and drugs.

Banks' appointment would be a departure from the Border Patrol's general practice of being led by career government officials rather than political appointees.
