The Trump White House released a video on Friday marking the end of Elon Musk's cooperation with the administration. Billionaires have been leading the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) since January.
The video, posted on multiple social media platforms, is a highlight reel, from Musk’s recognition of Donald Trump in July 2024, just before the last day of the candidate being nearly assassinated before reaching DC’s last day

White House reveals who will lead Doge's efforts after Musk sets off
In addition to the video, the White House has published several articles about X's thanks to Musk for its services, including a list of "Doge Wins," which includes a $170 billion U.S. taxpayers, canceling approximately 523,000 active U.S. government credit cards/accounts, which it found in an audit, cleaned up records at the Social Security Administration, among other initiatives.
At a joint press conference on Friday, Trump granted Musk "the key to the White House." The White House quoted the president as saying: “The old way Elon did business in Washington has changed dramatically… Elon Musk’s service to the United States has never been compared in modern history.”

What's next for Elon Musk after he left? "Just the beginning"
Another Republican leader joined Trump recognizes the changes Musk has implemented in Washington.
House Speaker Mike Johnson thanked Musk for his “selfless, patriotic service” and praised the billionaire and Doge, saying they “digged bureaucracy and articulated massive waste, fraud and abuse.”
“They saved billions of dollars for the American people and are updating the old system of the entire federal government while providing the Republicans with a list of meaningless plans that Congressional actions will address.”

While some are puzzled about Doge's future, the Trump administration insists that the department will continue to move forward without taking the helm. Tesla's founder also solved the problem, just like Trump's 100-day service mark. He told a small group of journalists, "The Governor is a way of life, like Buddhism. You won't ask who will lead Buddhism. Does Buddhism need Buddhism?"
A few days before his White House term ended, Musk vowed in a post on X to "return to 24/7 at work, sleep in a conference/server/factory room," a big switch to Lincoln's bedroom where the billionaire allegedly slept multiple times. But Trump mocked that even if it was Musk's last day, it wasn't "really, because he's always going to be with us and help all the way."
