President Donald Trump revealed Tuesday night about his discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Vatican meeting in the Vatican, when they both attended the funeral of the late Pope Francis.
"I told him that if we can reach an agreement you can sign this deal, which is a very good thing because Russia is bigger and stronger," Trump said in a city hall at the news agency on Tuesday night.
Both have attended the pope's funeral since the controversial Oval Office meeting in February, and the couple has met in person for the first time. Neither the White House nor Ukrainian officials provided many details about the nature or content of the speech, except that it was "productive" and "symbolic".

Zelenskyy posted on X after the viral meeting: "We talked a lot one-on-one." "Hopefully achieve results in everything we cover. Protect the lives of the people. A fulfilling and unconditional ceasefire. Reliable and lasting peace, which will prevent another war from breaking out. If we achieve joint results, then a very symbolic meeting has the potential to be a historic one."
Although details about the meeting were scarce, Trump did tell reporters over the weekend that part of the couple's discussion revolved around the United States sending more weapons to Ukraine.
"He told me he needed more weapons, but he's been saying it for three years," Trump said. "We're going to see what happens - I want to see what happens to Russia. Because of Russia, I'm surprised and disappointed - very disappointed - they bombed these places after the discussion."

Although Trump did not leak any further details about the meeting to journalists, the president did add that he believes Zelenskyy is willing to abandon Crimea to ensure a peace deal. In negotiations between the two belligerent countries, Russia annexed the current Ukrainian territory, a major key point, and Zelensky showed his reluctance to sign a deal that included abandonment of the territory.
