Donald Trump took a news tour around the first 100 days of his tenure, with the latest stop being an interview with ABC News sitting down on Tuesday night. It is not always gracious between the president and correspondent Terry Moran - especially when Moran tries to tell Trump that the image of the obvious edited "MS-13" appearing on Kilmar Abrego Garcia's knuckle isn't actually real.
Trump said of Abrego Garcia: "On his knuckles, he has MS-13. The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that the Trump administration must promote his return. Trump and his allies have no basis to try to play Abrego Garcia as a member of the terrorist gang, who were expelled from the country without due process, justified (even if the government itself admitted in court that his deportation was due to "administrative errors").
Moran replied: “He has some explanations for tattoos.”
Abrego Garcia has four symbols for tattooing on his knuckles, and there has been an image circulating in the White House where some people photographed the hophopshop on these images, or just superimposed a basic paint app that is actually "MS13", claiming that this is what Abrego Garcia's actual tattoo represents. Trump even printed photos in the Oval Office.
Trump has always insisted that the text covered on Abrego Garcia's knuckles is an actual tattoo. "Wait a minute. Terry, Terry, Terry. Don't do that. It says 'MS13.
"That's the photo," Moran said.
Trump then began to laugh at Moran. "That's photoshop? Terry, they give you a big breakthrough in your life. You're in an interview. I chose you because frankly, I've never heard of you, but that's OK," Trump said. "You're not very good."
Moran tried to move to another issue again, but Trump did not have that issue.
"Terry, do you want me to show you the photos?"
"I saw the picture."
Moran has been trying to keep moving forward - even saying "Agree or disagree" - but Trump has been insisting: "No, no: His 'MS' is as clear as possible, not "explain." That's why people no longer believe this news because it's fake news."
Exchanges are a symbol of the Trump administration’s unconstitutional deportation agenda that appears to be aimed at taking any action to mark members of immigrant gangs and then deport them to El Salvadorian prisons without due process. When Moran's obvious deportation violation to Trump and a court order to stop their violation, the president handed the responsibility to the Department of Justice. “I have to ask the lawyer,” this is a typical response.
Of course, this interview involves several other low lights for Trump for the second 100-day period. Moran asked the president what he said to people who think the president acted recklessly in tariffs and economic policies, and they "didn't sign it for it."
Trump replied that those who voted for him “actually signed it.”
"That's my campaign," Trump added. "I said we abused us in other countries we've never seen before. We lost $300 million to $500 million in trade every day."
When asked if he had any news that said, “The small businesses that said we can’t live with these tariffs” or were willing to give them a break like his administration did for Apple and other major companies, the president was biased to “not only Apple. Not only has $7 to 8 trillion invested in our country, but there was no such country in our two years if you didn’t invest in this country like you did.”
"Everything will be fine. If I don't, it won't be. I have the choice, I can make it a good, relaxed time, but I think you'll explode in the end."
There was tension between Trump and Moran in most interviews.
When Moran asked Trump if he had "100% confidence" in the scandal's Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, the president replied, "I don't have 100% confidence in anything," adding that it was a "stupid question" and he didn't even have "100% confidence that we'll finish this interview."
