Trump chose Dr. Casey Men, a close ally of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr, as the nominee for key health positions.
U.S. President Donald Trump chose Dr. Casey Mane, a health influencer who is closely linked to Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr, as his nomination for his former nominee.
Trump said in a social media post Wednesday that this means working closely with his Health and Public Services Secretary RFK JR.
"Her academic achievements and her life's work are absolutely outstanding," the post said. "Dr. Casey means being one of the best surgeons in American history."
Having served as an adviser to the RFK JR 2024 presidential campaign meant that he is currently a White House adviser and frequently appears on TV and podcasts to defend the administration's actions related to health and nutrition policies.
She has no government experience and quits her surgical residence program, noting that she is disillusioned with traditional medicine.
She founded a company called Levels, which helps users track blood pressure and other health indicators. She also makes money by sponsoring various dietary supplements and other products that she says have health benefits on her social media accounts.
Few health experts will question that the American diet full of processed foods is a contribution to obesity and related issues. But means have developed further, linking diet and lifestyle changes to a variety of diseases, including infertility, Alzheimer's, depression and erectile dysfunction.
Members of government such as RFK JR have attacked measures such as mandatory vaccination and the use of fluoride in drinking water, and both are very successful public health measures scientists and health officials say.
Attacks on such measures and sources of traditional scientific institutions show that during the 2024 campaign, aroused attractiveness among a core group of supporters, but distrust of medical expertise and a general disillusionment with the healthcare and food production industries in the United States.
Critics say appeals from figures such as Trump and his allies draw on legitimate sources of concern while leaving their root causes largely unresolved while also falling back on environmental and health protection.
The news comes after Trump’s initial choice to withdraw key health positions, a medical contributor to Fox News called Janette Nesheiwat.
Nesheiwat has been criticized by far-right allies for supporting the Covid-19-19 vaccine and accused her of potentially misrepresenting her academic and medical school history.
