For some people questioning whether flight passengers can get rid of using e-cigarettes in the bathroom, the smoke on the plane may be a little cloudy.
A Reddit user attended the forum "R/Flightattendents" and asked others: "Do you know when the passengers are vape in the bathroom?"
The post won comments on various flyers and claimed to be a flight attendant who commented on their ideas.

"Yes, we know," one Reddit commented.
"Even if (one) hears the alarm not going out (or maybe you're too much), other things will be alerted on the FA panel or in the cockpit - the pilot (Will) calls us to tell us to check a specific toilet."

Another Redditor said: "When smoke or particles are detected, we will blink red alarms loudly on the flight deck.

"When I opened the door and it smelled like Strawberry Stars smashed, yes," one user said.
Another said, “Remember that the alarm may have sounded out, but it may not sound like the traditional alarm you thought of – so it may not be registered (in) your mind, which is an alarm.”

Another flyer said: "I watched someone just bump into their seats a few weeks ago."
"Exhale to her clothes. No one said anything to her throughout the flight. I think it cared more than anyone else."

A person who claimed to be a flight attendant shared: "Yes. I've already made a flight on the plane and the fire alarms were ringing because a person was smoking in the bathroom. You can be arrested - it's not worth it."
Gary Leff, a travel industry expert in Texas and author of the blog "From the Wing Landscape", told Fox News Digital about detectors on the plane.

"It's just smoke detectors, but these aren't your average home smoke detector," Leff said.
“Modern ones can certainly detect aerosols from smoke.”

He added: "This is not about banning steam. The regulation simply extends the ban to include bans that include e-cigarettes, which is not considered when passed by laws targeting smoking on board."
