A trans swimmer won five women’s races in the Masters Swimming Spring National Championship last weekend.

The 47-year-old swimmer Ana Caldas dominated all five games the athletes competed, winning gold medals in five games with a 45-49-year-old woman, including 50-yard and 100-yard breaststroke, freestyle and 100-yard individual medley.

The controversy has sparked opposition from social media.

Masters Swimming provides a statement to resolve disputes to Fox News digitalization.

"USMS is aware of the allegations of eligibility for swimmers participating in our Spring National Championships. We have received a request for qualification review and will follow our formal procedures to make our determination."

The topic of trans competitors in the cross-women’s swimming competition became nationally controversial in 2022, when former Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas, who had previously competed for the school’s men’s swimming team, represented the school in the NCAA Championship after transitioning to the women’s category.
