ESPN's Sam Tighe explores interest in Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens.
Borussia Dortmund's season may not go as planned - they finish 10th in the Bundesliga and miss out on the cup competition - but they can at least be thankful they have another young superstar in their ranks.
Gittens, 20, has shaken off the turmoil this season, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in all competitions. The Englishman followed in the footsteps of Sancho and gave up youth training at Manchester City early on to play in the first team abroad and is reaping the benefits.
These outstanding goal contribution numbers represent the leap he has made this year. He's always been quick and his dribbles have always been twisty and confusing for defenders, but until this season he's lacked end product. Things have changed now, so he has become a key player for Dortmund: they give him the ball as much as possible and expect him to make a difference.
No wonder Bayern (and other teams) are interested in him. At 20 years old, he has not only played thousands of minutes in the Bundesliga, but has also shown huge potential, and Bayern may be looking to make a move if they lose Sané on a free transfer at the end of the season.
