Traitor star Minah Shannon joins BBC Radio 1 as host.

The Liverpool-based reality TV character will co-host breakfast with Nat O'Leary throughout May.

Miner said she hopes to "light the morning with the audience" during the show, which airs between 05:00 and 07:00.

The duo will be broadcast live from Liverpool on May 23 to help the city's Big Weekend celebrations of 2025.

Minah, 30, became a fan favorite and was the longest traitor in the 2025 series.

During the show, fans watched her deceive the "faithful" contestants and expelled the traitors Armani and Linda. Her performance took her all the way to the final episode, and voted only two days before the final.

Her move to recruit Charlotte to be a traitor was ultimately her downfall, as Charlotte's vote concealed her fate at the final roundtable at Minah and saw her deportation from the castle.

Minah currently works as a call center manager at Liverpool, where she lives with her husband Liam and daughter Luna.

"I'm very happy to be introduced in Radio 1's early breakfast every Friday in May," Miner said.

“It would be very fun to show with Nat O'Leary.

“We found that we both went to the same university and used to hang out in all the same places, so it felt like it could have been.

“If we can laugh at the adorable audience, then the mission is done!”

O'Leary said she was "excited" to attend the show.

“The energy of Mina is electric, so I know we’re going to create some confusion and bring some fun to your Friday morning,” she said.

"Can't wait to wake up with your hottie!"

In June, Lauren Redfern will propose the same slot.

Lauren joined Radio 1 Anthems Extension in November 2024 and was impressed with her collaboration with the Student Radio Association Network.

Her first performance will be on June 6.
