Officials said the train turned the track in the Bryansk region of Russia after "illegal intervention" caused the bridge to collapse.
A bus derailed in Russia, killing at least seven people and injuring 30 people with 30 people, as local officials called "illegal interference" the bridge collapsed.
The incident was in the Bryansk region of Russia, bordering Ukraine, late Saturday.
"Unfortunately, there were seven deaths," Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz said in an article on the telegram.
"Thirty victims, including two children, were taken to a medical facility in the Bryansk area," Bogomaz said, adding that two were in serious condition.
According to Russian news agencies, the driver of the train was the one who was killed.
Rosavtodor, the Russian Federation's Highway Transport Agency, said the destroyed bridge passed above the railway tracks for train trips.
According to RIA News, the railway vehicle was from the town of Krimaf to Moscow, the Russian capital, and it deviated from track when it collided with a collapsed bridge near the village of Vigonic.
The area is about 100 km (62 miles) from the border between Russia and Ukraine.
Rescuers are looking for passengers trapped in the damaged train, while emergency accommodation is set up at a school in Vigonic, RIA reports.
The Moscow Railway said in an article on the telegram that the bridge collapsed “due to illegal interference in the operation of the transport.”
It is not further detailed.
Russia's Baza Telegram channel frequently publishes information from sources from security services and law enforcement, but provides no evidence that the bridge was blown up according to preliminary information.
With the battle between Russia and Ukraine, the explosions have derailed in the Russian region near Ukraine, most of which are freight trains.
Ukraine did not comment immediately.
Two hours after the bridge collapsed, Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said Ukrainian air defense forces were trying to repel Russian air strikes on the Ukrainian capital.
Officials said Russian drone and missile attacks killed at least two people in Ukraine earlier Saturday.
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion three years ago, Ukraine has continued to carry out cross-border shelling, drone strikes and secret attacks, attacking Russia's Bryansk, Kursk and Bergorod regions, bordering Ukraine.
U.S. President Donald Trump urged Moscow and Kyiv to work together to end the war, and Russia proposed a second round of face-to-face talks with Ukrainian officials in Istanbul next week.
Ukraine has not yet promised to attend talks on Monday, saying it needs to see Russia's proposal first, while the leading U.S. senator warned Moscow that it would be "hard" by the new U.S. sanctions.
