Tough PGA wins won't trigger future Schefller's main speech

Scottie Scheffler is not talking about the significance of a first major victory outside of Augusta National National or future goals in winning more titles.

The 28-year-old American took over his third career major on Sunday, capturing the order in the last nine games to win the PGA title at Quail Hollow.

“I felt it was as difficult as I was fighting for a game in my career,” Schefler said. “It was a very challenging week.”

For him, his future career goals are not a big topic.

"Not really. I don't focus on this kind of thing," he said. "I like to be here and try to compete and win golf, and that's my point."

While the British Open at Oakmont next month or the British the British Porthush at Porthush is enjoying the scene, Scheffler said he looks only to be on the Colonial PGA Tour stop next week.

"After this week, I'm going home to prepare for next week's competition, and the performance is still going on," Schaeffler said.

"It's an endless pursuit and it's very fun. Being able to compete here is definitely one of the greatest pleasures of my life."

After winning the Masters green jacket for 2022 and 2024, inquired about the discussions about winning the Grand Slam outside Augusta, discussing the style of the course he won, rather than the future that might be open to us and the British.

"I won some different types of areas. It's a golf course, it's a big course. It's going to be a golf course and it's going to be more inclined to bombers," Scheffler said.

"I'm not necessarily a bomber...I've done a great job this week, stayed patient and played well."

Schefler's next big challenge won't be finding a place for his new trophy. It's in the room with all his other "golf trash".

"Where is it going? I have a room in my house called the 'golf room' and that's all my nonsense."

“It’s just a room full of all my golf trash. I also have some trophys and that might be the one.

“I want to say it’s good, but that’s not the case.”

- Driver test failed -

Scheffler did point out that his driver failed to test before the Quail Hollow game and was considered unqualified, but he prepared for the issue and said that when he hit Tee on Sunday, “I think that was my fault.”

“My driver really disappointed me this week,” Schaeffler said. “We feel it’s coming because I’ve been using the driver for over a year.

"Through the exercises I did, I feel I was lucky to be able to last that long. It's not a big deal. We're ready."

Some people think you can count on Scheffler's practice in the future.

"It's one of the most interesting things for me when I can practice alone. It's so peaceful and I love the pursuit of trying to figure out something."
