Tottenham: Winning Europa League could be a turning point for the club, Ange Postecoglou | Football News

Angel Postecoglou believes winning the Europa League and ending Tottenham's 17-year waiting trophy could be a turning point for the club.

The Spurs are preparing for a large showdown against Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao on May 21 as they hope to earn their first silverware since the 2008 League Cup.

The glory of the Europa League will be the first European trophy for North London clubs since the 1984 UEFA Cup, and then Loy believes that earning silver will change his view of the Spurs.

When asked about what it means to win a trophy in the Spurs trophy, he said: "It's great for me personally, it's another trophy that I can remind me of. But more importantly, for the club, I always say that what it means to people is what it means to people who really affect you.

“A lot of the success I have achieved is very important. Yokohama hasn’t won a championship in 14 years, Australia has never won a mainland title, and Brisbane hasn’t won a championship.

“My first job was South Melbourne, not won the championship in seven years, the Celtics were a year, but it was a long time in Scotland. They had to regain their dominance that had been around for a long time.

“When you look at the historical context of the club in the past 20 years of history, it feels like how people see this club and how this club sees themselves, which is what I think is the biggest thing.

“Unless you do something, people will say you won nothing.

German referee Zwayer presides over Europa League final

UEFA has confirmed that Felix Zwayer will previously be responsible for the Europa League final between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 43-year-old, who was reviewed in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, will be his second European Olive Oil Fair in Bilbao on May 21 as he tried the 2023 National League final.

Zwayer was responsible for England's semi-final victory against the Netherlands in the 2024 Europa League match, before former Gareth Southgate insisted that the appointment of the previously suspended official was "not even considered".

The German served as an assistant referee with Robert Hoyzer in 2006, with the football federation of his country, who served as a six-month ban at the football federation of his country.

Zwayer was one of the officials who revealed Hoyzer's fixed match plot, and Zwayer's relatively short duration prohibited recognition of this contribution. Huo Ze was forbidden throughout his life.

England midfielder Jude Bellingham was fined by the German federal government in 2021 for introducing Zwayer to participate in the scandal for his former Dortmund club's innings against Bayern Munich.
