Tom Brady talked about his advice to Shedeur Sanders as he slid to the fifth round in the NFL draft before the Cleveland Browns finally picked him with a No. 144 draft pick.
Brady is the No. 199 draft pick for Michigan's 2000 NFL Draft. The New England Patriots chose him. Drew Bledsoe is the team's starting quarterback, with Michael Bishop playing in seven games, what Brady did in his rookie season. John Freisz also made an appearance in 2000.

When Brady was charged with injury from injured Bledsoe at the start of the 2001 season, he performed on an elite level. The rest is real history.
Brady appeared on the "Incredible" podcast alongside Logan Paul and Mike Majlak. He was asked about Sanders' draft slides. He said he was not involved in Sanders' assessment process, even the minority owners of the Las Vegas Raiders. He criticized the media’s narrative before he shared his words of wisdom with Sanders.
"So, nobody knows it. I actually text Shedeur because I know him very well," Brady said. "And I said, 'Man, whatever happens, wherever you go, that's your first day. The second day is more important than the draft. I was 199 at the time. So, who can speak better than me - what it means. What it means. Use it as motivation. You're going to get the opportunity, take advantage of it, take advantage of it.'"
Sanders struck a zero deal with the Brady brand at Jackson State quarterback. It helped start the relationship between the two athletes. Sanders once his father, Deion Sanders, took over as head coach, then Sanders moved to Colorado.

Brady recalled watching the coverage around Aaron Rogers at the 2005 draft. Rodgers are expected to be the No. 1 pick with the San Francisco 49ers as Alex Smith.
"I remember when they talked about Aaron Rodgers' gliding and Aaron liked 21 in the first round or any situation. So use that as motivation," he said. "Where it ends up going, it's still about how you perform. It's like, what you do when you get there because you get there."
Brady mentioned that some of the greats he played in The Patriots weren’t high draft picks or simply chose, including Rodney Harrison, Wes Welker, Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola.
He described the draft as "some exaggerated day, a lot of people are selling stories, saying, it's an important day, it's a draft. It's an important day, it's a fun day, I love watching it and seeing it. But I've been there too. But I've also been there the next day, but they actually show up and learn the script there, learn (to learn part), it's part of a locked room.
Sanders will now hope to win a starting job with the Browns. He must beat Kenny Pickett, Joe Flaco and Dillon Gabriel.

"He has to show up every day because as a quarterback, you have to be a leader," Brady added. "For me, a leader is, do I care about my teammates, do I care about the work we are going to get done?"
