David Lowery has a new movie in Tilda Swinton's work.
"Death in the Hands of Death" (described as "whodunnit of Anarchy" and "anotherworldly psychological thriller" - adapted by Ottessa Moshfegh ("My Year of Rest and Relaxation").
Seeing the Oscar-winning commemorative film behind "The Power of Dogs", "The King's Speech" and "A Lifetime" (in the front of the TV, "Slow Horse" and "Heartstopper"), is in production.
In "Death in Hands", while walking in the woods near her new home, the nearest widow, Vesta Gur (Swinton), encounters a creepy handwritten note: "Her name is Magda. No one will know who killed her. This is not me. This is her body." Except for no body. No blood. Her husband's death and camera-only, her dog, Charlie, and vivid imagination make Gul obsessed with discovering Magda's identity and destiny. As the summary says: “As the world inside her begins to erode reality, Magda’s mystery threatens Vesta’s control over her own life – until at a fascinating opera climax, we realize that Magda’s death may finally keep Vesta alive.”
The film will be produced by Iain Canning, Emile Sherman and Jeanie Igoe; executive producers are Simon Gillis and Ann Phillips. Cross City Films, See-Saw's internal sales division, is working with WME Independent to secure Cannes' financing.
“I’m a big fan of Ottessa Moshfegh, and in some ways it’s a fool to have the chance to convert “death” to a big screen because they spent a lot of time obsessed with her prose. Lowery said, currently published on “Mother Mary.”
“The script created by the novel will soon become a movie, and I suddenly realized that adapting to this particular piece represents a difficult challenge (anyone who reads the novel will understand why)! But I was ready and full of brave collaborators: having such a great collaborator around me: the entire team In the stories of See-Saw, Jeanie, Jeanie, Jeanie, Jeanie, Jeanie, and Indernation Tilla Swinton, I can only encounter my stories.
Added the producer’s can and Sherman: “David Lowery is the master of striking, atmospheric stories, and no better person can bring Ottessa Moshfegh’s troubled and wonderful novel to the screen. We can’t wait to get the audience into the world, he created and swept by Vesta’s story, sweeping over to the unparalleled, unparalleled, unparalleled, unparalleled, ubiquitous, endless Timpernon and Endernecle selling and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and
