1. Xavier Griffin will choose Alabama

Griffin and USC were told to either stick with the Trojan and stop visiting or reopen things after they separated the road if he wanted to stay on the road.

The four-star guard from Gainesville, Georgia chose the latter and now he returns to the market as Ohio State, Alabama, Texas and Florida as the leader.

Texas and Ohio State are strong, but my predictions are many reasons why Griffin ends up in Tuscaloosa.

He is an Alabama legacy. He recently met with coaches from Alabama — some of which prompted him to promote from the University of Southern California. It's a four-hour journey that can be managed.

There is a caveat: If Georgia gets involved more seriously, then the Bulldogs might have some significant attraction here. The four-star defender may go to Athens for a treasure hunt this weekend, but there are also many family activities, so his absence can also be explained.

2. The University of California job fair is very good

Rivals.com

Over the past few weeks, USC has won four-star catcher Kohen Brown and four-star guard Xavier Griffin.

This seems to be the reenactment of the 2025 grade when the Trojan lands in all these deviant areas, just seeing a lot of five- and four-star prospects exit their commitment later in the recruitment.

This is not the same situation.

The news came that Griffin and Brown wanted to participate in other visits, and the University of Southern California (USC) is not planning to play the game now. Maybe it was a reaction to last year's collapse, especially with the players in the Southeast, or the Trojans have different recruiting philosophy under the new general manager Chad Bowdenbut this doesn't look like the same situation.

Even with two very talented prospects due to the losses of Griffin and Brown, USC still has the country’s No. 1 recruiting class and has at least 10 promises than any other team in the country.

Only 10 promises come from outside the state. This is a very different recruit compared to the last recruitment cycle, so even with some inevitable departure events, the Trojan should move forward well.

3. Oregon still shapes Lyon well

Oregon State lost four-star quarterback Jonas Williams to USC. The Ducks missed five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, who chose Georgia in recent days.

The Big Ten might still win in the end, especially because it opens a good avenue for focusing on landing on five-star quarterback Ryder Lyons.

Over the past few days, Oregon has offered four-star quarterback Matt Ponatoski from Moeller in Cincinnati (Ohio), but let's not forget that Lyons is basically the prospect of 2027 as he's on a year-long Mormon mission.

So Ponatoski offers both sides help - Oregon gets quarterback, but once he reaches Eugene, he doesn't necessarily scare Lyon's people.

Recently, Oregon, Michigan and BYU have become leaders in five-star quarterbacks. USC couldn't calculate it when Ole Miss, Ohio State and others were involved.

The Duck has suffered some painful recruitment losses recently - Curtis, Kayden Dickson Waite, Jackson Cantwell. But Lyon would be a huge addition, and Williams and Curtis went elsewhere, and Oregon might actually end up winning.
