Methodology
The research project "World's Top Tech Company 2025" is a comprehensive analysis aimed at identifying the highest performing Edtech companies in the United States. First, companies must focus primarily on developing and providing educational technologies, products or services. The 350 companies with the highest scores were awarded the "World's Top Tech Company 2025."
Ranking is based on two pillars: financial strength and industry impact. Statista collects and reviews data from over 7,000 companies through desktop research, online application forms, and collaboration with other data and market intelligence companies. A company gets scores in each dimension and then combines them into a total score.
For the first dimension, financial strength, Statista analyzes data on revenue, employee and funding from annual reports, company websites, monitoring through media and through databases. In addition, company disclosures submitted through the online application form are considered, which can be accessed freely through the Time Website.
To assess industry impact, Statista works with Holoniq and Lexisnexis® intellectual property solutions to evaluate companies of different influences, including:
- The quality and impact of its product/service portfolio
- Quantity and value of a company's IP (intellectual property) portfolio
In addition, Statista studied various metrics about network traffic to assess the relevance of products and services to various target groups.
The evaluation process involves evaluating all relevant companies in the global Edtech industry that exhibit above-average performance on financial indicators of their geographical regions. Subsequently, the selection narrows down to include only those companies that not only perform well financially but also have a significant industry impact in their specific categories. This selection process allows us to establish our final ranking of the world’s top Edtech Companies in 2025. Once the data is collected and evaluated, it is consolidated and weighted in the scoring model. The final score is calculated as follows: 70% x Financial Strength Score + 30% x Effect Score. The highest-scoring companies awarded the "World's Top Tech Company 2025" by time and Statistics Bureau.
In addition to a list of 350 top tech companies, Statista and Time have released “Rise Star Rankings,” with the highest revenue growth rates among those who have submitted company data through the online application process over the past three years.
Application standards:
- Company age under 10 years old
- The minimum income in 2022 is $1 million
- Revenue growth rate exceeded 20% over the past three years
