"The View" co-hosts were outraged Thursday by President Trump's order regarding the government's DEI office, arguing he gave racists a green light.
"I think by coming out of this in such a bold way on day one, what he's doing is giving a green light to racist, homophobic people. For people who are anti-women and think they should tell them in the kitchen, your There are no consequences for racism," said co-host Ana Navarro.
The federal Office of Personnel Management (OPM) notified agency and department heads that they must begin taking steps to close all Diversity, Equity and Inclusion All offices will be closed through the end of Wednesday and government workers in those offices will be placed on paid leave, Fox News Digital reported Wednesday.
Co-host Sonny Hostin compared the move to Woodrow Wilson's re-segregation of the federal government, which she said not only led to "lower incomes for black workers, but lower incomes for women as well."

"I think this is a war on people of color and we're going to see a lot of pain, especially in communities that need these jobs," Hostin added.
Co-host Sara Haines pushed back against Navarro and Hostin, citing criticism of DEI programs and arguing they are "a money-sucking bureaucracy."
The co-host posed a question to Hostin about why people feel threatened by the demolition of DEI offices.
Hostin argued that Trump’s executive order “also eliminates protections against discrimination in the awarding of government contracts.”

Haynes said criticism of DEI has to do with whether the programs actually work, arguing that's not always the case.
"Statistics show they are very effective," Hostin countered.
Hostin said on Tuesday that Trump himself was a "DEI employee" and argued that he was a traditional employee and "got everything."

Co-host Ana Navarro said the government is undergoing a purge.
"They're finding out, you know, who might be doing what - I mean, they've been asking people in different federal agencies to basically snitch on each other. You know, who are the liberals? Who are the Biden supporters? Who are the Biden supporters? "They've been purging these people, they told us they were going to do it," Navarro said.
