"Today President Trump can call on the Netanyahu administration to allow aid," Van Hollen said. "I mean, the president admits that someone was hungry in Gaza the other day. He said so. But why didn't he call Netanyahu to allow aid? Let's get started."
Trump advocates turning Gaza into a so-called "free zone" and relocating about 2 million Palestinians. This has sparked widespread opposition from all over the world, which the United Nations says would constitute ethnic cleansing.
