The ultimate destination bloodline reaches $100 million on the opening weekend

The "ultimate destination bloodline" was killed in its international box office debut, scaring $51 million from 74 markets.

Warner Bros. and New Line’s R-rated horror films added $51 million to the world’s global start. Thanks to positive reputation and excellent reviews, The Final Destination won the best opening weekend of the six film series to date, which began in 2000’s Final Destination. With this momentum, it will eventually become the highest installment payment for the “final destination” ($186 million worldwide) in 2011.

Directed by Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, "The Ultimate Destination Bloodline" continues the franchise's trend, even as people get increasingly crazy and horrifying deaths, and start with a family that dies one by one, because their patriarch never survived 50 years ago. The highest territories on overseas territories include Mexico at $5.5 million, Britain at $5.3 million, Philippines at $3.4 million, India at $3 million, France at $3 million.

Warner Bros. Pictures, which started a year with “Joker: Folieà Deux,” Mickey 17,” and “Alto Knights,” is undergoing dramatic reversals after a tough end in 2024. “The Ultimate Destination Bloodline” is a $50 million production, the studio’s third straight win after April blockbusters “Minecraft Movies” and “Sinners.”

The two films continue to attract the crowd "Minecraft", bringing $8.3 million on the seventh weekend on the big screen. To date, PG-rated video game adaptations have generated $501 million overseas and $928 million worldwide, making it Hollywood's biggest movie of the year. Meanwhile, "Sinner" collected $3.8 million internationally over the weekend, raising its box office to $76 million overseas and $316 million globally.

Elsewhere, Disney Marvel's adventure "Thunderbolts" added $15.7 million from 52 markets in the third frame. The sequel to "Superhero" generates $170 million abroad and $327 million worldwide. However, despite enjoying strong reviews and becoming one of the highest-grossing movies of the year, "Thunderbolt" may struggle to earn drama profits. That's because Tentpole's production costs are as high as $180 million, about $100 million in the market, and movie owners can keep about half of the ticket sales.

Prior to its North American release, Sony's Karate Kid: Legend generated $4 million while playing in certain Latin American markets. The sequel features franchise OG star Ralph Macchio and newcomer Ben Wang, which has earned $11.5 million from 12 markets.

"Karate Boy: Legend" opened on May 30 in the United States and 31 major international territories including the United Kingdom and Germany. The film was picked up three years after the end of the spin-off sequel in the martial arts series, Cobra Kai, which follows a new student (Wang) who becomes Daniel Larusso (Macchio) and Han (Jackie Chan) (Jackie Chan) (Jackie Chan) (Jackie Chan) (joining the series with 2010’s “Karate Kid Reboot”).
