The top 5 most outrageous ways the government wastes U.S. tax revenue

President Donald Trump celebrated his 100th day this week, with Elon Musk's Department of Efficiency (DOGE) saying at least $160 billion in waste, fraud and abuse were reduced in the federal government.

When Trump signed an executive order on the day of the inauguration, the Governor set an ambitious goal of cutting $2 trillion from the federal budget.

According to the Government Ethics Office, "special government employees" like Musk can work for the federal government for no more than 130 days a year, and in Musk's case, it will be May 30.

Fox News Channel's "Jesse Watters Prime Time" has a chance to see Musk's infamous doe behind the scenes, with Democrats opposing that Republicans have been celebrating since Trump returned to the White House this year. "Doge Boys" reminded Watters on Thursday that the department has received some of the most shocking savings this year.

Funding former Taliban members

Earlier this year, Doge discovered that the US Peace Institute (USIP) had transferred $132,000 to former Taliban member Mohammad Qasem Halimi, former director of Afghanistan’s agreement. Doge announced on March 31 that it had cancelled the contract.

Halimi was detained in the United States and was detained for one year on January 2, 2002 at Bagram Air Base. He was released and held multiple positions in the Afghan government and was appointed Minister of Religious Affairs in 2020.

"A small institution called the American Institute of Peace is definitely the one we fight the most. We actually went into the agency and found that they had already loaded guns in their headquarters - the Institute of Peace," a church staff member told Waters. "So, by far, it's the most unpeaceful agency we've worked with. In addition, we found that they spent money on private jets and even signed $130,000 contracts with former members of the Taliban. It's true. We don't encounter that in most institutions."

USIP did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's investigation.

Caesars Palace party

Fox News Digital reported earlier this year that schools in the U.S. spent $200 billion in co-utilization funds to “have little oversight or impact on students,” such as hotel rooms in Las Vegas and buy ice cream trucks.

The Granite School District, Utah, spent $86,000 in remittance funds in hotel rooms, held an educational conference at Caesars Palace, a ritzy Las Vegas casino, while the Uniform Santa Ana, California, rented a large major league baseball stadium, reported by Defending Education and shared by Doge. The Granite School District has since denied “any misconduct that has brought our educators to participate” to attend the Las Vegas conference.

The cost-cutting department also revealed that the school spent $60,000 in Covid Relief funds on the pool pass, while a California district used its funds to buy ice cream trucks.

"They are basically partying on taxpayers' dollars," Musk told Water on Thursday.

Iraq's "Sesame Street" millions

Senate President Joni Ernst, chairman of the Senate Church Caucus, worked closely with Musk to identify waste cuts, and he revealed that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) “mandated $20 million to create a 'sesame street' in Iraq.”

Under the Biden administration, U.S. International Development awarded the $20 million to a nonprofit called Sesame Workshop To promote inclusion, mutual respect and understanding among interracial, religious and sectarian groups, the performance of “Ahalan Simsmu Iraq” is performed.

Billions of “improper payments” in 2024 alone

Doge received a hand from the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), which released a report in March that showed federal agencies wasting $162 billion in "impaired payments", which was actually $74 billion less than the previous fiscal year.

GAO's analysis shows that 75% of the found waste in the 16 government agencies reporting inappropriate payments are concentrated in five programs: $54 billion from three Ministry of Health and Human Services (HHS) Medicare programs; $31 billion from HHS Medicare programs; $16 billion from Treasury's income tax credit; $11 billion from the Ministry of Agriculture (USDA) Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Program; $9 billion from Small Business Management (SBA) Restaurant Revitalization Fund.

Large DEI spending within the federal government

In the campaign and since taking office, Trump has made it clear that his goal is to cut diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) spending in the federal government, while showing that there is a elves system that should be the focus.

Over the past few months, Doge announced that it has cut hundreds of millions of dollars in DEI contracts.

Earlier this month Dorje announced It worked with the National Science Foundation to cancel 402 “waste” Dei Grants, which would save $233 million, including $1 million in “anti-racist teachers leading the statewide transformation.”

The Department of Defense can save up to $80 million in wasted spending by reducing a few DEI programs, the agency Announced last month.

Department of Defense spokesman Sean Parnell said in a video posted to social media that the Defense Department has been working with Doge to cut wasteful spending.

Parnell listed some preliminary findings from Doge tags, most of which include millions of dollars to support various DEI programs, including $1.9 million for the Air Force's overall DEI transformation and training, and $6 million from the University of Montana to "enhance American democracy by bridging the divide."

The Trump administration announced earlier this month that it would cut millions of dollars in grants from the Dei Institute of Museum and Library Services as part of its overall effort.

In February, the Ministry of Education Says canceling As part of Doge's efforts, more than $100 million in grants were provided to DEI training.
