Michael Hot: How does everyone feel?

Katie Drummond: I'm on the road this week and listeners may notice, but I feel pretty good, I feel good. Lauren, how do you feel?

Lauren Goode: Actually, I did a great job. I feel better than I have been in months.

Katie Drummond: Wow!

Lauren Goode: Somehow, in some way. I'm not on the road. I think maybe that's why, I haven't traveled for a long time. Katie, I thought you were going to say that after you came back from France and developed this new French butter habit, you felt better than ever.

Katie Drummond: I do. Butter is so life. I've been eating a lot of French butter. I feel great! I feel incredible.

Lauren Goode: Amazing. Did you run five miles this morning? That's what I want to know.

Katie Drummond: I ran seven miles this morning. sorry.

Lauren Goode: stop!

Michael Hot: seven?

Katie Drummond: Yes.

Michael Hot: Wow.

Lauren Goode: elasticity.

Michael Hot: I was running zero miles last month. No, no, that's not true.

Lauren Goode: No, we ran.

Michael Hot: In the past two weeks. We did it.

Lauren Goode: Yes.

Michael Hot: This is an important part of my healthy daily routine and I definitely feel it when I don’t.

Katie Drummond: Oh, yes.

Lauren Goode: Yes,

Michael Hot: Today, we will talk about our health, not just our own, but about the health of all Americans, because it has been in everyone’s mind lately. At Wired, we have been reporting on the current government to demolish public health agencies and fund research programs. We have tracked all the ways Elon Musk and his doe cohort have been introducing all of our sensitive health data and the sensitive health data of millions of Americans without explicitly explaining why they do it. And, we have been watching the transformation of culture around the U.S. vaccine and changing attitudes towards the role government should take in our collective well-being. In this episode, we will discuss all of this. We will discuss the measles outbreak. We will discuss all the other health crises we really think we never have to talk about again. But that's not all, I'm sure we'll find a way to have some fun on this show at some point.
