A pro-Donald Trump journalist said she was fired in criticizing Presidential Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth for trying to restrict media access to the Pentagon.
Gabrielle Cuccia, a former Pentagon chief correspondent, a far-right, Trump-friendly media One America News (OAN), said she was terminated shortly after she published her replacement position, accusing Hegseth of the Defense Department of Defense mastering the news channel. She has said the restrictions are disturbing, questioning the Department of Defense’s motivations for tightening media restrictions, noting that Hegseth has not held a formal press conference since taking office.
Kuchia claims that the transition began after a controversy known as the "signal gate." According to Kuchia, the scandal marks the beginning of a broader effort to limit the interaction between the Pentagon media.
"To be honest - the real leaks in the Pentagon since January have not come from the media," she wrote on the bench. "They come from Hegseth's own team and other senior officials."
She suggested that Trump made America great again (magazine) movement and Russian elections interfere in the United States, adding: "As a Margo girl, I can't stand it, when we take something super serious and reasonable (like a Russian scam), I can't stand it and confuse everything, it's an inconvenient fact, it's an inconsistent fact, and says, unfortunately, unfortunately, that's the Yep people, and then the Yep people, and people keep going..." Really. ”
Cousia points out how Hegseth led the Pentagon during Trump's second president, how it started in January. No one was held after the signal gate that took place in March. Her breakthrough point was reportedly seen last week when the Pentagon created a new policy requiring journalists to be escorted to Hegses' office by public affairs staff.
"The Pentagon wants to draw a classified space where journalists can roam freely, sneak in (sensitive compartment information facilities), and leak pictures of secret information. It's not true at all."
Officials say the move will minimize the risk of accidental or unauthorized disclosure.
Kuchia also highlighted her conservative background in her post, emphasizing her continued loyalty to the conservative movement. She recalls the time at the University of Pennsylvania, where she said she was branded as “racist” and “fascist” for not participating in the Black Lives protests.
Despite her service for Maga, Cuccia told CNN that she was asked to hand over the Pentagon badge to the director for a replacement for the media restrictions on Hegseth media.
Her resume includes during Trump’s first tenure, including in 2017 and 2018. She then spent several years reporting for OAN and working as a government contractor.
Cousia's past appearance on Newsmax, another far-right, has emerged in her response to Trump's lies, and election fraudsters secured his defeat against Joe Biden in the 2020 election. Cuccia's remarks prompted anchor points to shorten the segment.
