Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay are known for their boldness.
The moves they have made over the past eight seasons are shocking — from the 2026 trade to the No. 1 overall, to countless first-round picks for veterans like Matthew Stafford and Jalen Ramsey. They have had a huge success in these decisions after they won the Super Bowl twice and won their tenure together.
Despite their arrogance in recent years, the Rams can still shine in 2025. Los Angeles now has two first-round picks for 2026 in their pockets, and McVeigh has joked that they now have those picks. Can another blockbuster senior trade be available on the dining table? Although there is no obvious demand for the lineup, this is certainly possible.
But for entertainment, here are six blockbuster moves the Rams can still make at the start of the 2025 season.
This is the largest and most obvious. Ramsey will fill a much-needed loophole in the Rams' minor, a huge party after the two sides split in 2023. It's expensive, but the Rams are never a team that evades big contracts.
Hendrickson and The Bengals remained stagnant, and divorce seemed more likely than the vows this year. While the Rams don't necessarily need Hendrickson, putting him on defense creates the most powerful front in the entire NFL.
The Rams' first draft pick in the draft was Terrance Ferguson, so it seems unlikely to add another draft pick through trade unless LA cuts Tyler Higbee. That being said, Andrews is better than Shigby and will be a great mentor to Ferguson. He will also be a relatively cheap contract.
Given the current unit’s struggle in 2024, it’s strange that Snead decided not to resolve the cornerback in the draft. This could mean the Rams will trade one before the 2025 season. While Ramsey is the bigger name, Newsome will be someone who can take advantage of the scenic opportunity. He is only 25 years old this year.
If it happens, this is arguably the biggest deal after the draft. However, there is no sign that the Colts are ready to move him.
Richardson is young, athletic and strong – all want to have it in Matthew Stafford’s successor. While he has some issues on the court, Richardson will have the opportunity to sit behind Stafford and work with the best offensive ideas in the game. He will be an interesting successor to the quarterback position.
Another unlikely action, but will ripple throughout the league. Pickens is a young, vibrant catcher who has shined in Pittsburgh for the past two seasons.
He's a little fool though, and the Rams probably don't want to invite it into the locker room, especially since Pickens will be the Rams' third catcher on the depth chart. However, Pickens will create the best receiver trio in the NFL with Davante Adams and Puka Nacua.
