Police said Friday that a driver crashed a pickup truck into a tourist truck near Yellowstone National Park earlier this month, killing seven people, with blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit for driving.

Isaiah Moreno, 25, from Humble Dexas, Texas, was from when his vehicle crossed the centerline and carried more than a dozen people with a Mercedes Tour Van, driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck on U.S. Highway 20 in eastern Idaho.

Both cars exploded, and Moreno and six people from China, Italy and California were killed. Survivors were taken to a nearby hospital and were injured.

The fatal crash occurred near Henrys Lake about 16 miles west of Yellowstone, Wyoming. Yellowstone is one of the largest national parks in the country, attracting millions of visitors each year.

Moreno's blood alcohol level is 0.20%, Idaho police said in a statement. Limit to .08%.

"This tragedy should be a wake-up call," said police captain Chris Weadick. "No one intends to cause a collapse or take lives when the wheels are behind, but the choice has consequences."

Video of the May 1 crash showed a red truck on one side of the road, whose front was crushed and caught fire, while the van was engulfed by flames. Survivors tend to be on the side of the road when a helicopter arrives.

Roger Merrill, 60, told The Associated Press that he was driving home when he collided and said he was anxious to wait for first responders.

"It took a long time to get there just because of the location," he said.

ISP soldiers responded to the Milepost 399 collision. The highway in which the crash was on a route between Yellowstone and the large adults who opened in the spring, which was open in the spring until the north-south route was planted and the park was fully open in the summer.

The victims in the tour truck were named by Local News 8 Van Driver Yu Zhang, 30, of Eastville, California; Ivana Wen, 28, of Milan, Italy; Jianping Li, 71, of Guangxi, China; Xiaojiang, 66, of Guilin, China; Li Nie, 64, of Arcadia, California; and Aifeng Wan, 53, of Arcadia, also of Arcadia, California.
