The score is other Large Super Bowl LVIII Conflict: Advertising and Consumer Performing the Best.
The results reveal some interesting trends. The number of Super Bowl ads with celebrities has been increasing over the years, and Sunday’s big game may have a record number: 57 of the 94 product ads aired on Sunday’s game in terms of celebrity names, Many people have more than one. This is 22% higher than last year. Source says Hollywood Reporter The A-Listers received $30,000-5 million in commercials this year, although Cameo's appearances earned less.
Even though the ads write a lot of checks, celebrity ads only attract the audience’s restrictions. According to a survey by TV market research firm Edo, 60% of the top 50 ads feature celebrities. Plus, only one of the top 6 non-trailer ads is powered by celebrities - Glen Powell plays Goldilocks in Ram Trucks' ads, which is second. Another star-focused American car ad, Jeep and Harrison Ford's "free" position, also ranked in the top ten and eighth. Additionally, the three Gen Z influencers and reality stars (Jake Shane, Alix Earle and Rob Rausch) make up many of the veteran celebrities in other ads, and their sodas put Poppi ads at No. 9.
That said, there are 11 attractions in the top 20 ads with celebrities, which is only 3 compared to last year. “When advertisers connect their brands to the brands of celebrities they hire, consumers responded a lot,” said Kevin Krim, CEO of Edo.
Several celebrity ads have made fairly moderate engagements: Kevin Hart touted Draft Country ranked 75 out of 94 ads, Vin Diesel vs. fast and Furious Haagen-Dazs co-star Michelle Rodriguez is 59, Matthew McConaughey sells Greta Gerwig a football conspiracy film for Uber Eats ranked 56, Issa Rae and Turbotax are teamed up 46, Adam Brody Shilling P ringles are 45. When Harry meets Sally Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal reunited, and when the ads were released a few weeks ago, they attracted great media interest, drawn in just 49 pictures.
Uber Eats Ad was probably one of the most expensive products of the night, as it also had cameos from Kevin Bacon, Martha Stewart and Charli XCX.
Another interesting trend: AI-generated ads get a lot of buzz (and attention) before the game starts, but are not doing well. "Despite vague promises and flashy AI performance, AI advertising has mostly failed to inspire Super Bowl audience participation," Krim noted. "The only AI brand that clearly outperforms Super Bowl Rix's ad is Ray- Ban Meta Glasses, which includes a practical conversational AI assistant, plays the romping celebrity ads. ”
Edo’s Super Bowl ads performed the effectiveness of the venue in promoting consumer behavior, such as brand searches, which they claimed is a predictor of future sales compared to opinion surveys. Their methods differ from the popular advertising meter features in the United States today, which are from the ad classifications that readers rank online.
The most effective ads are T-Mobile's "You Connect" attractions, providing consumers with free access to satellite-powered wireless phones, Ram Trucks ads, Liquid Death ads encourage viewers to "drink at work", a real person from Universal action How to train your dragon AD, Hims & Hers weight loss pill ads (although some objections).
Some of the best performing ad types include practical technology, health-centric products and advertising that celebrates women’s empowerment.
While celebrity-oriented Super Bowl ads seem to be common, they have become more and more over the past few years. Of course, celebrities have been in large game ads, but according to ISPOT, the ad tracks ads, in 2010, only one-third of Super Bowl ads had celebrities. The number has soared to over 70% of attractions since the COVID-19 pandemic, with multiple cameos in ads thriving. Given all this, it’s worth wondering if 2025 may end up being seen as a celebrity Super Bowl ad to peak.
