The Kremlin laughed at Trump's claim that the decline in oil prices would help end the Ukraine conflict

Moscow-- The Kremlin insisted on Friday that as the US President Donald Trump hinted, the global oil price decline could not promote the solution of the Ukrainian issue.

特朗普周四在瑞士达沃斯举行的年度世界经济论坛上通过白宫视频发表讲话时表示,石油输出国组织+石油输出国联盟对乌克兰近三年的冲突负有共同责任,因为该联盟使Oil prices are too high.

"If the price declines, the Russian-Ukrainian war will end immediately." Energy sales accounted for a large part of Russia's income.

When asked about Trump's remarks, the Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov affirmed Moscow's point of view, that is, the Ukraine conflict was triggered by the West refusing to consider Russia's security interests.

"Conflict does not depend on oil prices," Peskov said at a call with reporters. "The reason why the conflict continues is that Russia's national security is threatened. Russians living in these territories are also threatened, and Americans and Europeans refuse to listen to Russia's security concerns. It has nothing to do with oil prices."

He said Russian President Putin is still ready to contact Trump.

Peskov's remarks echoed Putin's statement that he had to send troops to Ukraine in February 2022 to resist the threat to Russia's security for Ukraine to join the NATO plan and protect Russian users living there. Ukraine and the West condemned Moscow's actions for no reason.

When asked about Trump's statement about the statement of Ukraine President Zellezki, he commented on a statement of reaching a peace agreement, Peskov pointed out that Ukraine leaders decided to exclude any negotiations with Moscow earlier.

Peskov told reporters: "Zelianzki has not yet prepared for reaching an agreement." He added, "In order to reach a settlement, it is necessary to negotiate, and Zeleiski prohibits himself from holding talks."

On Wednesday, Trump threatened that if he could not reach an agreement to end the Ukrainian war, it would impose severe taxation, tariffs and sanctions on Russia.

Peskov said the Kremlin was paying close attention to Trump's statement and pointed out that he had imposed a series of sanctions during his first term. He said that Moscow was "still preparing to make equal dialogue and mutual respect."

"This dialogue was carried out between Trump's first presidential period. We are waiting for signals that have not been received," Peskov said.
