The judge once again dismissed the former deputy prosecutor's lawsuit, "Not hiring" tag

A federal judge dismissed a $25 million lawsuit against Los Angeles County by former Sheriff Alex Villanueva for accusing county officials of defamation and violations of his rights.

The lawsuit claims Villanueva was lost on potential jobs because his personnel profile was tagged "Don't hire again" because a county team determined he had harassed two officials. Villanueva's lawsuit claims that the Home Office's investigation into his actions was "fake" and violated his due process rights.

In September, U.S. District Judge Stephen V. Wilson Throw it out Villanueva's initial suit, but opened the door for him, as multiple claims have not been resolved.

Villanueva investigated the case, accusing him of emotional distress and that the “not releasing” symbol made it difficult for him to find a job. But Wilson dismissed the lawsuit again, writing in his ruling Thursday that there was not enough evidence that Villanueva had been hurt or that the designation left him losing at the expected position.

Attorneys in the county did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Wilson wrote that despite his rejection of the final remaining federal demands, there are still state affairs courts that “refuse to exercise jurisdiction”.

"We are pleased that the sheriff's complaints about the results of slander and emotional distress will continue to move forward and we will have the opportunity to take charge of Los Angeles County in state courts," Villanueva's attorney Carney Shegerian said in a statement.

Inspector General Max Huntsman accused then-official Villanueva of the then-official attack in 2022, his naming follows repeated references to Max-Gustaf after a sentence of a “racial assault.” Villanueva also claimed that Hunstman was a denier of the Holocaust and provided no evidence to support the claim, which Hunstman denied.

Huntsman's complaint led to a county investigation, and Villanueva insisted it was an unreasonable name for "don't hire". In a court filing last month, the former sheriff objected to the assessment of a county-employed expert psychiatrist, saying he had “many attributes of a white-collar psychopath.” transparent

Wilson's 28-page Thursday document said Villanueva did not provide enough evidence to confirm the main claim, which failed to show how he was hurt by the county's actions.

Attorneys attorneys were fired in the case in Los Angeles County case, claiming Villanueva was harassing Sheriff Robert Luna and members of the board of supervisors in an attempt to refer to him as witnesses in a potential civil trial.

Also on the list of witnesses scheduled in Villanueva is former journalist Keri Blawinger, who initially reported in last year’s “Do not re-lease” designation.

Court documents of the case Villanueva allegedly learned that Huntsman was a charge of the massacre rejector of the former La Sheriff’s Department. Mark Lillienfeld Also placed “do nOT rehiretransparent List For irrelevant reasons.

Esther Lim made a separate complaint when Hunstman made a request, and Esther Lim, then the judicial deputy to county supervisor Hilda Solis, argued that the comments Villanueva made during a live social media show a pattern of harassing women of color. Her claims also resulted in the investigation and the name "not re-leasing".

Hunstman and Lin declined to comment Thursday afternoon.
