When looking for a device to read e-books, you have several options. You can always buy a tablet or use your phone, but these devices are multipurpose and can be used for many things, like surfing the web or doomscrolling on the X. If you're looking for something strictly book-reading, E-Reader is niche but designed to store all your books in a limited-featured virtual library.
Amazon is one of the pioneers of e-readers and has dominated the space for years with its ever-expanding Kindle lineup, which is made up of a variety of unique models, each with their own pros and cons. Most of the devices function as simple e-book readers; however, with the launch of Kindle Scribe, Amazon is moving beyond books and into writing—which will make future Kindles function more like paper.
Below, we've listed every model currently available. Sometimes there are no deals on one or even any product, but in that case we list the latest sales price.

Best Kindle (2024) Deals
What does it mean for a Kindle to be "ad-supported"?
Amazon Kindle e-readers come in different storage configurations, but there is an add-on option that allows you to purchase the e-reader with or without ads. The ad-supported Kindle displays personalized ads on the lock screen while in sleep mode, or at the bottom of the home screen when the device is connected to Wi-Fi. Typically, you save around $20 by purchasing the ad-supported version, but if you decide to remove the ads later, you can make a one-time payment to make up the difference and remove the ads.
In case you missed it, Amazon announced a new entry-level Kindle in October, designed to replace the outgoing 2022 model. The latest Kindle, which starts at $109.99, has a brighter 94-nit display, improved contrast, and slightly faster page turning speeds. It also comes in "Matcha" green instead of "Denim," just in case you don't like the default black. Otherwise, though, it's pretty much the same as its predecessor, with the same 6-inch 300ppi screen, USB-C support, and 16GB of base storage.
In the past, Amazon's latest ad-supported Kindle has been reduced to $84.99 ($25 off) for three months with Kindle Unlimited. However, you can currently only buy the Kindle at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target, where its full retail price is $109.99.
Best Kindle for Kids (2024) Deals
Amazon also updated its kid-friendly Kindle in late 2024. The new Kindle Kids is the same as the standard model, but comes with multiple accessories and age-appropriate content for young readers who enjoy digital books. Like the previous generation of Kindle Kids, the latest model retails for $20 more than the base model, bringing the MSRP to $129.99.
In terms of extras, the new Kindle Kids edition comes with four pieces: the device, case, two-year extended replacement warranty if the device is damaged, and six months of Amazon Kids Plus. Along with a kid-friendly mode and no ads, the latter is the device's biggest selling point, as it allows parents to give their kids access to games, videos and books - including those on Percy Jackson and harry potter Series – at no additional cost.
In the past, we've seen new Kindle Kids on sale for as low as $94.99 (a $35 discount). However, you can currently only buy this e-reader at the full price of $129.99 at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target.
The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is the same as the standard model, but has wireless charging and a sensor that automatically adjusts the backlight.
Kindle Paperwhite Best (2024) Deals
The latest Kindle Paperwhite, launched last year, is Amazon's 12th generation model. Considering it's one of the company's higher-end configurations, it offers all the features you'd find in an entry-level Kindle, including USB-C charging and a crisp 300ppi display. That said, it's significantly faster than Amazon's basic e-book reader and has IPX8 water resistance, a larger 7-inch display, and better battery life.
Like other Kindles, the new Paperwhite comes in several different configurations. The ad-free Signature edition costs $199.99 and is the same as the standard model, but comes with 32GB of storage, Qi wireless charging, and a backlight that automatically adjusts when needed. There's also the Paperwhite Kids, which costs $179.99 and comes with a kid-friendly cover, a two-year extended replacement warranty, and six months of Amazon Kids Plus.
In the past, we've seen the Paperwhite drop to $129.99. Unfortunately, the standalone model is currently only available at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target, starting at $159.99 (full retail price). If you agree to buy the bundle, you can also get the set with a power adapter and a black, green, or pink cloth cover, or with a black, green, or pink vegetable leather version, on Amazon for $196.97 ($20 off) Cover price is $202.97 ($20 off).

As for the ad-free Signature version, it is currently available on Amazon and Best Buy for a regular retail price of $199.99. You can also get it on Amazon with a wireless charging base and a black, green, or pink fabric cover starting at $251.97 ($25 off) or with a plant-based black, green, or pink leather cover for $257.97 ($25 off).
You can write in Kindle Scribe and use its AI features to clean up your handwriting or summarize your notes.
Kindle Scribe Best (2024) Deals
Like its predecessor, the second-generation Kindle Scribe is Amazon's largest e-reader. It has a 10.2-inch 300 dpi display and the same excellent battery life as the Kindle. However, what sets the Scribe apart from other Kindles is that it comes with a stylus that can be used to jot down notes or doodle in the e-book reader's built-in notebook. In the latest version of Scribe, Amazon is also introducing a new Active Canvas feature so you can write notes directly on e-book pages, as well as a suite of AI-powered features that summarize your notes and refine your handwriting.
Recently, we saw the entry-level Kindle Scribe drop to an all-time low of $324.99 (a $75 discount). For now, however, you can only buy the base model on Amazon and Best Buy for the full retail price of $399.99. You can also buy the basic Scribe with a 9W power adapter, a premium pen, and either a plant-based leather cover starting at $434.97 ($55 off) or a premium leather cover starting at $459.97 ($60 off). Alternatively, the 64GB version is available with the same accessories and a plant-based leather case for $479.97 ($60 off), or a premium leather case for $504.97 ($65 off).

Best deals on Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition
In October, Amazon released its first color e-reader, Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition. Like the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition, it has a 7-inch display with a resolution of 300ppi, IPX8 water resistance, wireless charging, and 32GB of storage. However, unlike the Paperwhite, the e-reader offers a color mode that cuts the resolution in half. Thankfully, despite the lower resolution, the color e-ink screen is still vibrant, making it particularly suitable for reading comic books and comics.
Recently, we saw the Kindle Colorsoft reduced to $229.99 for Prime members (a $50 discount), which is the first discount we've seen on a color e-book reader so far. Unfortunately, that offer has expired, which means you can only buy the standalone model at the full retail price of $279.99 on Amazon and Best Buy. You can save some money, though, if you buy it in a bundle for $327.97 ($35 off), which includes a wireless charging base and a vegetable leather case in black, pink, or green. You can also get a "premium" leather case in red or black for $349.97 ($35 off).
