The "Brutalist" director shares his "change" for making the movie

The reality of the “Brutalist” director is real about making an Oscar-nominated film.

Film director Brady Corbet recently appeared in "The Savage" and the 2018 film Vox Lux" in "The WTF".

"I just directed three ads in Portugal. This is the first time I've made money in years," he said in the podcast. "I've talked to a lot of filmmakers who have been nominated this year, These movies can't pay rent. I mean, it's a real thing."

Corbet doubled the fact that his last two films made "actually zero" and added that he and his wife "have to pay their salaries starting three years ago."

He went on to explain that filmmakers “have not paid to promote the movie” and that promotional schedules often prevent other opportunities from making money.

"If you watch some movies that premiered in Cannes, that was a year ago... I mean, our movie premiered in September. So I've been doing six months of income because I don't have any income It's time to go to work.

"The Savage" nominated 10 Oscars in the 2025 Academy Awards, following Jewish architect Lászlótóth played by Adrien Brody, who is in The surviving massacre moved to the United States. Brody's portrayal has won the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards and BAFTA Awards and is the leader in the Academy Awards Best Leading Actor Competition.

In addition to nominations for Corbet and Brody, the film also received nominations for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Screenplay, etc.

Brody previously won an Oscar in 2003 for his lead role in the 2002 film The Pianist. He won the award at the age of 29, making him the youngest actor to win the honors.
