A whirlwind is good. Two people can cause natural disasters.
After changing nine positions Thursday night and taking the lead in the first round, the Houston Texans have finally strengthened their pass offense by choosing Iowa wide receiver Jayden Higgins in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Midway through the third round, his opponent from Ames remained on the board, so general manager Nick Caserio made sure Houston caught fellow Iowa star Jaylin Noel.
Noel is an explosive athlete who makes up for his overall route running skills after touching and solid hands. After posting back-to-back for over 60 catch seasons while gaining over 800 catch yards in total, Noel’s value as a third-round pick could lead him to steals in the southern AFC South.
As Rocco Becht's second-place unit, Noel has a career-highest career in the catch world (80), catch yards (1,194) and touchdowns (8), while also earning another 10-win season in Big 12.
Here is a quick breakdown of Noel:
high: 5 feet 11
weight: 200 lbs
age:twenty two
from: Kansas City, Missouri
Noel and second-round receiver Jayden Higgins will maintain a contrasting style teammate in the next stop. Given the existence of Christian Kirk and other characters here, there is definitely a redundant problem, but Noel Michael Middlester Schwartz
“The fusion of Noel’s reception and return talent may bring more swing given the league’s new kick-off rules in 2024. He’s primarily a slot receiver, but with enough size and speed to be in the pinch. His route is a bit out of place, which may be a little right, but related to the coach is that he can run at a constant speed. He can speed up running and frequent attractions. Not consistent, but he’s willing to mix it in the middle of the field and it’s natural with the ball mastering.
"Jaylin is a very good footballer. The inside receiver, the game outside the formation, the pan returner and the ball is handled. He is strong. We got some feedback from the team.. ”
: This is probably the best choice in the draft. Not the Texans’ draft, but all 257 draft picks. Noel is a small but Enbe route runner who wins with excellent footwork and the ability to create separations in small spaces. He is also a willing stopper, not allowing his little frame to make him a non-factor in the running game. From a perceptual perspective, personality role and health, Caserio deserves a mention as it doubles the whirlwind and realizes it is the best player on the board. - Cole Thompson
