Tennis Podcast joins the Sports Podcast Network to expand tennis coverage

As the French Open begins, the storyline of the second Grand Slam of the year is taking shape. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner look higher than the rest of the men's side, and defending champion Igaświątek will have to go in the quarterfinals and must surpass one of four players in the world if she wants to be the first player to win four women's singles in a row in the open era.

Ranked first in the world, Aryna Sabalenka is seeking his first Grand Slam title. Novak Djokovic is still pursuing his 25th major, and both on the ATP and WTA Tours want to play their first big game in one of the four biggest games in the sport.

Just in time for Roland Garros, the main draw kicks off on May 25, and the Tennis Podcast brings its insightful analysis and engaging discussions to the Sports Podcast Network. In all four professional daily episodes, global audiences of tennis fans will benefit from at least one episode per week, with the rest of the year every Monday. Since its launch, the award-winning podcast has received over 30 million downloads.

Broadcaster Catherine Whitaker and BBC commentator David Law launched the podcast in 2012, and Matt Roberts joined in 2015. The show features tennis legends Billie Jean King and Chris Evert as fans, often appearing on companions like PAM Shriver and Mary Carillo. Tennis writers, Matt Futterman and Charlie Eccleshare, also frequently appear, dispatches of global events.

“We are all big fans of sports journalism, especially the breadth, depth and insights of its tennis coverage, so joining the Sports Podcast Network is a thrill,” said David Law, co-host of Tennis Podcast. “We share their commitment to cover the biggest moments of live sports, from within the stadium and within the country that happens, so it feels like the perfect choice when we want to introduce our show to a wider audience.”

“Tennis podcasts are the authoritative exhibition in their category and the ideal partner for us to expand our leadership in global sports journalism,” said Jesse Burton, global audio leader.
